Really Right Stuff BXT3-L Overview

The L-Plate Set for Fujifilm X-T3 from Really Right Stuff is a modular design composed of an Arca-type compatible base plate and L-component that facilitate easier, more stable switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations. Laser-engraved center marks on the back of the plate help to keep the camera centered when working atop a tripod.

The L-Plate maintains complete access to the battery door and the camera's ports, all without obstruction of the camera's LCD monitor. Both parts can be separated slightly, and retightened with the included hex key if more room is needed for your tethering or cable release. In addition, this CNC-machined plate has a durable Type II black anodized finish, and a threaded accessory mounting socket allows you to attach a camera strap and carry the camera in comfort.

Another Really Right Stuff rock-solid product

Rock-solid build. Precision design. The hallmarks of RRS, and this L-plate is no exception. Arca-Swiss compatible for use with their (or others') tripod mounts in both horizontal and vertical orientation. This beauty makes that transition easy and quick. Design also accommodates battery removal and use of cords (mic, HDMI, tether & headphones) with a simple slide-out of the short part of the L. I own one of these for my Fuji X-T2 (now my backup camera body), and I missed using it so much with the X-T3 that I finally broke down and bought another one. Pricey, but the build quality is second-to-none, so it'll last forever. If you do a fair amount of shooting from a tripod, do yourself a favor and get one.

Works fine, but I miss the hex key mount on the X-T2 version

I’ve liked RRS gear for years, and have their plates and clamps on all my cameras and tripods. They are robustly built and allow for easy access to the camera’s controls. The one thing the plate for the X-T2 had that this one does not is a place on the underside in which the allen wrench can be stored (it is held in place with a magnet on the X-T2 bracket). This becomes important because the sliding side rail (very important for portrait orientation work) needs to be slid about half an inch away from the camera body in order to open the access door to the connectors (my comment about accessibility notwithstanding). Otherwise, this lives on my camera unless I require the external battery grip.

Phenomenal Product

High quality product. Fits like a glove and really enhances the X-T3’s ergonomics.

Solid, excellent fitment

This RRS unit is as solid and well made as all the others I have owned over the years (dont ask how much Ive invested in RRS plates and clamps - but theyre worth every penny if you use a tripod - which you should!). Anyway, I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that, unlike their L-plate for the X-T2 on this plate there is no Allen key holder - the X-T2 L-plates hex key is fitted on the underside and held in place by a magnet - very convenient. Here, you have to have a key handy in order to attach or remove the plate (which I do when I need to use the battery grip). Otherwise, its a solid piece of kit (as is everything from RRS)

Gorgeously made with one small ergonomic flaw

This is a two-part plate set: One part connects to the bottom of the camers; the second part connects to the first part and provides for vertical mounting. It would be nice if it were easy to use the bottom part by itself or both together. It is possible to do so, but not quite easy. The trouble is that to separate the two, you have to take the combo off the camera, then loosen two screws, then take the two pieces apart, then put the base plate back on the camera. When youre done, you have the L part and the connecting screw, which is not captive; which means that you have to store the two of them in a plastic bag or something so that they dont become separated, losing the screw. This does not affect the use of the product, but it does make it less convenient than I wish it were.

Top quality but pricey

This L-plate set is exceptionally well made.  Fits impeccably on the Fuji XT-3.  I often leave the L plate on when I am working without a tripod because it fits in my hand so nicely.

Well designed, beautifully constructed L-Plate

I have had several of the Really Right Stuff base plates and L-plates over the years and, as always, the two-piece set designed for the Fuji XT-3 is perfect. There is an opening on the bottom plate, making it easy to change the battery, as well as a generous opening on the left side giving access to the port cover. The Allen wrench stows in a slot on the bottom plate and is secured magnetically. As with all of the RRS products, the machining is perfect, with no defects and with nicely rounded edges. Their products are a bit pricey but, I think, well worth it, and reflective of the fact that they are still hand made in the US.

Love RRS L-Brackets, but...

I've used several different RRS L-brackets on various cameras. Much of my shooting involves tripods, so it's a blessing to quickly and easily shoot in any configuration. The only thing I don't like about this particular L-bracket is that the articulating LCD screen on the back of the camera can't be accessed with the side plate installed. It's a bit of a hassle to have to loosen or remove the side plate. I'm accustomed to a more install it and forget it approach.
