The black Arca-type B-00 ball head makes a good match to tripod and retains the theme of being compact. The ball head supports mirrorless, compact, and small DSLR cameras weighing up to 11 lb. The separate pan lock disengages and allows the head to rotate the 360°. The ball also moves freely after unlocking the head's lever lock, and at the same time, the cut notch on the side of the head permits you to position a camera at a 907° angle. The TY-C10 quick release plate, which has a 1/4"-20 threaded mount, is included with this kit.

Sirui T-024SK Tripod with B-00 Ball Head Reviews

Light and compact but tippy due to narrow leg angle

I watched a video about this before I launched it and the reviewer said his tipped over in the wind due to narrow leg angles. I figured he was being dramatic or fishing for clicks, but it turns out he was right. If you don't hang a bag from this thing, it's pretty tippy. After some research, I learned that this uses 21 degrees for its default leg angle which is narrower than let's say a high end gitzo or peak design tripod which uses 25 degrees. 23 is maybe the lower limit, but many companies cheat more than this. For example, the manfrotto befree I checked uses 22 a Benro I checked used 20. It varies from model to model for any company. I decided to keep this because I tell myself that I'd rather have a four section, lighter tripod that's quicker to setup than have five section with a two piece center column that takes longer. I say that now having used it a couple of times, but I really don't know. I've never used a five section tripod. Quality is good, the ballhead doesn't slip with a 5d3 with a 24 70 2.8, and it's very lightweight (2.2 pounds is accurate...I weighed it). The height is also accurate (I measured). I'm 5 9 and in landscape, it's about two inches below eye level (just tall enough if my knees are slightly bent). To use it in portrait mode, I'm very hunched over so I have to use use a foldout out LCD screen to not hunch over. Other minor issues: - the bag is quite a bit longer (maybe 4) than the tripod - it doesn't come with spiked feat or a way to change the feet - If you use the shorter center column and fold the legs around the head, the legs bow out and it becomes wider unless you remove the ballhead Overall, it's the lightest and fasest tripod to setup that reaches eye level I could find so I hope I can get used to hanging a weight each time I use it. if not, I'll have to go with five sections. But fit and finish are fantastic and the specs are as described. Overall, I think it's the best compromise of height, weight (I checked the weight with a scale and it was correct), and compactness if you're committed to a four section tripod and willing to hang a weight from the center column each time you use it .If you're not willing to do that, you're probably going to want something with a 23 degree or wider default leg angle.

Nice compact sturdy tripod. It's used with Fuji XT3 & XT30 & 100-400 lens. Never got the rebate that I mailed in March :(

1 minor flaw otherwise awesom!

I took an age determining which lightweight tripod to get. It came down to T-025sk and this one. Both have great points a key one needing lightweight for airline use. But the 4 leg sections instead of 5 for stability and then the reversible centre column won out. Wish I could have had the better centre caribiner clip hook on this one. But appreciate you can win everything. Now the one key flaw or frustration. The quick release frame requires an Allen key or coin to tighten it up onto your camera body! Why not a d-ring head screw to do it fast and efficiently with your fingers? So found a duplicate quick release version which has that to be my primary quick release frame on the tripod. So now I would say it's perfect. SIRUI make a new frame with that and it would rock!

Travel tripod

I like this light weight, yet sturdy tripod. Great for on the traveling with. My only concern is the ball head - need to make it pretty loose to set up the framing. Panning is smooth enough for me. Given the cost of this tripod, I'm willing to upgrade the ball head. It will all still be a reasonable price.

The Sirui USA website says this tripod has a center column that can be split in two. B&H says the center column is removable and reversible. Also, is it possible to buy the tripod only, without the ballhead?
Asked by: Greg
I don't think you can buy this tripod without a head (ball or fluid). I see no listings for the tripod alone. There are 2 center columns, long and short. The use of the word "split" on the Sirui website is a misnomer. You can switch one column for the other, and you can use the hook on either. And either can be installed with the ball head above or below. As the owner of 2 of these, I can say it is a good, lightweight, compact tripod - best used with smaller cameras & lenses. For heavier equipment, go with a beefier tripod.

It says it has a removable center column, but does that mean it can also convert into a monopod?
Asked by: Fabian
No it doesn't convert to a monopod. The center column can be inverted for a lower camera angle. You. May want to look at the A-1205Y if you want a monopod leg. It is a little larger. It offers several other features & is only $10.00 dollars more. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1378861-REG/sirui_a1205y_a1205_carbon_fiber_tripod.html

Differences between the T-025SK and the T-024SK? It seems the T-025SK has a lower working position and the T-024SK has higher. The 025SK can also take 2lbs more weight and folds down lower. Am i missing anything else? Is the t-025sk worth getting over the later?
Asked by: Tony
Hi, unless you need the extra 5" in height that the T-024SK has, the T-25SK has a greater load capacity, a much lower minimum working height, and a much shorter folded length, so it depends on how you will be using the tripod.
