FotodioX EOS-GFX-PRO-FUSION Overview

The Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter for Canon EF- or EF-S-Mount Lens to FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX Camera from FotodioX allows a Canon EF- or EF-S-mount lens to be mounted onto a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera. While doing so, the adapter is designed to support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. If the lens includes autofocus, image stabilization, as well as camera-controlled aperture functions, this adapter is intended to allow those features to be used. If an attached lens is also capable of generating Exif metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, this Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter is designed to allow that information to be saved along with image files generated with a combination of the lens, a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera, and the adapter.

By enabling camera-controlled aperture functions for a Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens when used with a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera, program and aperture-priority modes, as well as shutter-priority and manual modes, can be set through the camera. Power for these functions is transferred from the camera to the lens, while two switches along the side of the adapter for toggling between the camera's program and aperture-priority modes, as well as the camera's 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratio settings. Alternatively, the camera can be configured to enable the adapter to toggle between the camera's manual and shutter-priority modes, as well as the camera's 3:2 aspect ratio setting and another aspect ratio selected within the camera body.

When an image is taken with this Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter, a matte black internal coating minimizes the potential for reflections within the adapter barrel, which could otherwise result in unwanted glare within the image. This adapter is constructed from aluminum alloy for durability while minimizing weight, and its mounting rings are made with brass to further prevent wear-and-tear.

  • Allows a Canon EF- or EF-S-mount lens to be mounted onto a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera
  • Supports electronic communication between camera and lens to enable autofocus, image stabilization, on-camera aperture control, and Exif metadata generation when possible
  • Integrated switches allow for instant toggling between either the camera's program and aperture-priority modes or the camera's manual and shutter-priority modes, as well as between either the camera's 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratio settings or the camera's 3:2 aspect ratio setting and another aspect ratio setting selected within the camera body
  • Internal coating minimizes reflections within the adapter barrel
  • Aluminum-alloy components for weight reduction
  • Brass mounting rings further prevent wear-and-tear
  • Locking mechanism for secure attachment of lens with push-button release
  • Built-in micro-USB Type-B port for firmware updates
  • Padded, wooden box for storage or transport

Works GREAT - Update Firmware & 50mm

Actually amazing results with lens 50mm and most Zooms, Read the instructions, check firmware updates, I use with 70-300 f4L, 70-200 F2.8L & 2X, 24-100 f4L, 105 Macro. For wider lens best to use the 35MM setting otherwise may need to crop a little. May want to turn off IS in lens as camera IS is better. A/P switch does not seem to work for me.

Works great with my tilt shift lenses

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will pass on correct metadata of the lens to the camera and tell you the correct aperture setting, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will communicate well enough with the camera to let it take pictures... sometimes it doesn't. I wanted one soon and this one was in stock, but I'll be sending it back and getting something different.

Received two weeks ago, several outings so far to test adapter/lens combos. Purchased primarily to have macro and tilt/shift lenses for my Fujifilm GFX 100. To my pleasant surprise, adapter worked right out of the box. Shooting in A mode, Medium format, mostly. While autofocus works I manual focus 95% of the time, especially with macro lens. All my Canon glass is L, so on par with GFX lenses. Focus-stacking with 100mm macro produced excellent results (Helicon Focus). Canon 14mm also provided good results, but is not going to replace my GFX 23mm prime lens. Popped on the Canon 100-400mm L IS II and appears to work, more tests needed (a major boat-anchor with the GFX 100 body). Looking forward to testing adapter with my Canon 24mm TS/E, for shift-type pano images. Would definitely recommend this adapter if you have an extensive kit of Canon glass (or have run out of cash for GFX lenses). My GFX kit includes the 23mm, 32-64mm zoom, 110mm (superb) and 250mm (also superb). BTW, passes all (and correct) EXIF data to image file.

Works great with all my canon lenses

This adapter works great with all of my canon lenses. I was nervous to switch from canon to the fujifilm GFX100s but rented the camera and mount for a test drive. It worked better than I expected. Photos come out very sharp. It performed so well that i switched from a canon 5DSR to the fuji GFX100s and am only using canon lenses. In the medium format mode, you will see the vignetting in the corners at shorter focal lengths but it can easily be cropped out. In 35mm mode you lose some of the image resolution but no vignetting. The pixel count in landscape orientation with a center 1x2 crop in medium format mode is 11648, with the full frame 35mm mode switched on the total width is 9552 (the 5DSR is 8688.) My main lens is the canon 24-70 f2.8L I, but have used it with the 16-35 F4L and 70-200 F2.8L II. I definitely recommend this product for any canon user switching to Fujifilm.

I like it...

Anyone use this adapter on a GFX 100 with the Canon 100mmm macro or 24mm T/S lenses?
Asked by: Char
Yes this adapter is a great option to use with those lenses, even though those lenses are made for a smaller sensor, the tilt shift throws a large enough image circle onto the sensor to get adequate results. The 100mm is long enough to throw a large circle onto the sensor.

While the manufacturer does not publish the exact lenses that the adapter was tested with, they do state that most DSLR lenses that are 85mm or longer have a large enough image circular to cover a medium format sensor as found on the Fuji GFX cameras.
