FotodioX EOS-GFX-PRO-FUSION Overview

The Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter for Canon EF- or EF-S-Mount Lens to FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX Camera from FotodioX allows a Canon EF- or EF-S-mount lens to be mounted onto a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera. While doing so, the adapter is designed to support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. If the lens includes autofocus, image stabilization, as well as camera-controlled aperture functions, this adapter is intended to allow those features to be used. If an attached lens is also capable of generating Exif metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, this Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter is designed to allow that information to be saved along with image files generated with a combination of the lens, a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera, and the adapter.

By enabling camera-controlled aperture functions for a Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens when used with a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera, program and aperture-priority modes, as well as shutter-priority and manual modes, can be set through the camera. Power for these functions is transferred from the camera to the lens, while two switches along the side of the adapter for toggling between the camera's program and aperture-priority modes, as well as the camera's 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratio settings. Alternatively, the camera can be configured to enable the adapter to toggle between the camera's manual and shutter-priority modes, as well as the camera's 3:2 aspect ratio setting and another aspect ratio selected within the camera body.

When an image is taken with this Pro Fusion Smart Auto-Focus Adapter, a matte black internal coating minimizes the potential for reflections within the adapter barrel, which could otherwise result in unwanted glare within the image. This adapter is constructed from aluminum alloy for durability while minimizing weight, and its mounting rings are made with brass to further prevent wear-and-tear.

  • Allows a Canon EF- or EF-S-mount lens to be mounted onto a FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX camera
  • Supports electronic communication between camera and lens to enable autofocus, image stabilization, on-camera aperture control, and Exif metadata generation when possible
  • Integrated switches allow for instant toggling between either the camera's program and aperture-priority modes or the camera's manual and shutter-priority modes, as well as between either the camera's 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratio settings or the camera's 3:2 aspect ratio setting and another aspect ratio setting selected within the camera body
  • Internal coating minimizes reflections within the adapter barrel
  • Aluminum-alloy components for weight reduction
  • Brass mounting rings further prevent wear-and-tear
  • Locking mechanism for secure attachment of lens with push-button release
  • Built-in micro-USB Type-B port for firmware updates

FotodioX EOS-GFX-PRO-FUSION Reviews

Returning it, not worth it

I was really hopeful because of other positive reviews especially for Canon EF lenses, however it struggles at best. Focus is off on the few lenses I was able to use autofocus with. Most of my canon EF lenses it only works on manual focus which defeats the purpose. And overall it seems to diminish the image quality to the point where I might as well just use the full canon system I started with.... looks like I'll have to just buy all new lenses for the Fujifilm camera and sell the canon kit.

I like it...

Anyone use this adapter on a GFX 100 with the Canon 100mmm macro or 24mm T/S lenses?
Asked by: Char
Yes this adapter is a great option to use with those lenses, even though those lenses are made for a smaller sensor, the tilt shift throws a large enough image circle onto the sensor to get adequate results. The 100mm is long enough to throw a large circle onto the sensor.

What is the longest Canon EF lens tested with this adapter? 300mm? 400mm? 600mm?

While the manufacturer does not publish the exact lenses that the adapter was tested with, they do state that most DSLR lenses that are 85mm or longer have a large enough image circular to cover a medium format sensor as found on the Fuji GFX cameras.
