This item works great but I have found that if you install it upside down it will fit better and stay on the iPad more securely. Also this item draws power from your iPad, so be aware that it will drain your battery while in your bag.

Will this enable transferring data (raw camera files) from the IPad Pro to a SSD? Currently one can only export via WiFi.
Asked by: Charles
If your external SSD would be via USB C, then you would be able to transfer from the iPad to the SSD or the SSD to the iPad.

I tried plugging a USB to the hub. Unfortunately, I can not see the movie content of the USB. Please help
Asked by: Glenn
As long as you have updated to iPad iOS or iOS 13 you should be able to view the movie. With the update the c port will allow all ports of hyperdrive to be used at once for the same kind of connection you would make to a laptop (except it is not a lighting port so it cannot handle external drives made for that high speed connection -- however, usb c gen 2 are no problem). If you are continuing to have issues after update, try going to your file app and copying the movie to the iPad before playing.

Can this work older iPad pro with lightning to usb c adapter?
Asked by: Eric
I would not think so. I haven’t tried it, but it’s not made for a lightning port - a usb c is fast enough to allow having all those ports run through the single interface and still work. Also really this is for the ipad pro 3 after installing iPad OS. On the current iOS the various ports work - hdmi to hook up to a larger screen, SD card reader works great, headphone jack is great etc (I use it to wire a MIDI into garageband use headphones and charge it) - but the new iPad OS will allow the ipad to read external hard drives and it will make programs like lightroom and lumafusion much easier. If you need an adapter for an older ipad pro, I suggest the apple adapters, they worked great for me.

for some light app gaming, can i use my xbox usb controller with this adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm afraid this wouldn't work as Controllers that work with the IPad have to be Mfi certified and the Xbox controller is not certified.
