Fast, reliable and well made.

It works fantastically, is built well and has proved totally reliable. My only knock against it is that I don't like there being magnets anywhere near my computer equipment.

Fast cards transfer very quickly

Fast read, strange magnetic force

I really like that it can write two SDs simultaneously to two seperate drives. Definite time saver. But my reader has a very strong magnetic field... like it could easily hold on to a moving car. Is that normal? Do you think this could damage other equipment? HDs? Microfones? Cameras that might be in the same case?

Great Card Reader

I was concerned about using this card reader with my Windows 8.1 but the unit worked fine. Much faster than my internal reader witch quit working. Highly recommended.

Did not see increase in import speeds, no tech support

I bought this to increase my Lightroom Classic import speeds from Sony M SDXC cards. New AMD 5800x PC with many USB 3.2 Gen1 & 2 ports. With this unit I encountered issues where the indicator was flashing but nothing was transferring. I could not eject the device nor terminate the connection. Reboot required. Sent email to ProGrade tech support but never got call or response from them. Prior to buying this I was using Sony MRW-S1. I will go back to using it...

LOVING IT!

I wished I had this years ago. So much time saved with this little device. Download speeds are super fast and I can offload two cards simultaneously. One of my best purchase of the year for.

This card reader is blazing fast. I'm a hybrid shooter and it's made my workflow so much faster. the magnetic bottom is a huge plus cause it stays fixed in place on my monitor stand. a little detail that goes a long way.

I haven't done any speed tests yet, but it zips right through transferring a large number of huge RAW files lickety-split. I like the solid all-metal construction, and I especially like the magnetic base that allows me to firmly stick it to the my PC case in a convenient location, rather than further cluttering my desk with yet another little box.

Can I plug it in one of the Thunderbolt 3 slots of my iMac 2019?
Asked by: Jordi
Yes, you can plug the USB C cable into a Thunderbolt 3 port on your Mac. You will get 10Gb/sec (USB 3.1 Gen 2 Speed), not 40Gb/s (Thunderbolt 3 speed).

Why does this product have a why why is there a magnet built in. Isn't it asking for trouble to have a magnet close to your PC?
Asked by: Wally
The magnet is designed so that you can attach it to a PC box and assist in not getting it lost or misplaced & so that inserting a card is easier, not requiring 2 hands. I too had concerns placing it close to a typic magnetic hard drive, so I attach it to the base of a nearby desk lamp base. The magnet is reasonably strong but not to an extreme degree. I use iMacs and Macbook Pros so I dont have hard metal case, but if I were to attach it to a PC case, I would very easily feel safe placing it on any area NOT adjacent to the hard drive location. I think a 'reasonably' safe distance would be beyond 4-5 inches, but that's a guess. It is noticeably faster without any doubt.

My imac and macbook pro are USB2 which one is faster? Apple SD Internal Slot macbook mid 2011 or ProGrade Digital?
Asked by: marcelo
The now-aging USB 2.0 standard can theoretically transfer data at 480mbps (60MBps). The newer USB 3.0 can handle up to 5gbps (640MBps)—over ten times as fast as the 2.0 maximum. How fast can a Mac read or write to a SD card in its SD card slot? Mac notebooks (laptops) use the USB bus to communicate with the SD card slot. They have a maximum speed of up to 480Mbit/s. Mac desktops use the PCIe bus to communicate with the SD card slot. Desktops can transfer data at a faster rate. Check the packaging that came with your SD media to determine the maximum transfer rate that your specific card uses. To determine the maximum transfer speed of your Mac, you can use System Information. Choose Apple () menu About This Mac and then click System Report. If you use a Mac notebook: 1. Select Hardware, then select USB. 2. Select Internal Memory Card Reader and look for the Speed entry. If you use a Mac desktop computer: 1. Select Hardware, then select Card Reader.  2. Look for the Link Speed entry. Computers that use the PCIe bus express their speed as GT/s. Excerpt from: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204384
