No speed ring is required for mounting. Instead, touch fasteners are employed to attach the softbox to the light panel. Supported by magnetic rods that snap together, the softbox sets up in seconds and collapses to a size small enough to fit in the included 9" bag.

Fits 12x12" LED Fixtures
A 12x12" LED fixture mounts to the back of the softbox with touch-fasteners. No speed ring required.
Reflective Interior
The silver interior maximizes output while softening the quality of light.
Construction
The softbox holds its shape and rigidity with snap-together magnetic rods. Set up is easy and the softbox breaks down to fit in the included storage bag.
Optional Fabric Grid
A fabric grid is available to tighten the beam angle, add directional control, and minimize spill light.

This Angler softbox is very nice and fits my LP Astra 6x great. Mixed review on those long Velcro ties. I don't use them because they are too long and clumsy to use. I added a few patches of velcro on the side of my Astra and this thing is quick to setup. Nice soft light...love it!

Is this compatible with the astra ep 1x1's? Also, what's the inherent difference between this and the Astra softbox aside from the price point?

This softbox can work on the Astra EP 1 x 1, but it is different from the Litepanels DoPchoice Snapbag Softbox for Astra 1x1 B&H # LINBAG1X1 in terms of depth.

Short answer: No! In theory, anything can fit anything; it's a question of how much you want to go through to adapt the "anythings." This piece has a specific tie system that ONLY fits the intended 6 x 12 instruments.

It's a bit loose since it's designed to be a universal fit, but it's definitely as good of a fit as it gets for the Neewer 660 LED panels. These are a good choice.

Unfortunately, no, it will not. It is slightly too small to fit on the Aputure LightStorm Ls1 LED light panel, and the built-in barndoors are also an issue. Chimera is making a Lightbank softbox designed for use with the Aputure LightStorm LS1, but I do not yet see it listed as available.
