The light is manufactured to Luxli's precise specifications in Norway, and to show you just how accurate it is, each Timpani comes with its own individual photometrics data sheet, detailing the exact specifications of that light. Four easy-to-use operation modes let you refine the color temperature to match any other light source, add a digital gel in front of it, select almost any color in the visible spectrum, or play with ten highly customizable animated lighting effects. Experience effortless, complete control of your Timpani through the intuitive LCD interface, the free Composer mobile app, or a DMX board. And at a fraction of the cost of other LED fixtures in its class, the Timpani will enhance the value of any production with its outstanding performance.
Operating Modes
CCT Mode
The correlated color temperature (CCT) mode allows you to accurately adjust your color temperature from 2800K to 10,000K while reliably maintaining 97 TLCI and 95 CRI color accuracy. This lets you emulate any lighting condition, from the cool hues of bright sunlight to the warmth of a tungsten bulb or sunset. The plus/minus green correction lets you match the Timpani's color to any light source such as the green tint of office fluorescents or the magenta tint of older LEDs.
RGB Color Mode
RGB mode allows you to maintain total control of hue and saturation. Dial in nearly any color of the visible spectrum in 1° increments. The Timpani can produce rich, saturated color that's greater than the sRGB color gamut.
Filter Mode
Set your white balance, and then select between 150 Lee-equivalent digital gels. Whether you're using technical filters for color correction, or creative gels for theatrical effects, the Timpani's filter mode provides a wide variety of customizable color options. It's just like putting a gel in front of the actual light, but without the light loss.
Effects Mode
You won't need to carry extra gear with you to enhance your video with exciting cinematic effects. The Timpani offers ten preprogrammed special effects. Adjustable parameters let you customize each effect to your specific needs. Whether you're recreating lighting from fireworks, a police car's flashing lights, or a campfire in a mild breeze, the Timpani makes it simple to create realistic lighting effects that will add drama and a dynamic look to your video.
Features
Amber and White LEDs
The "A" and "W" in RGBAW stand for amber and white, 2800K and 5600K color temperature LED's, respectively. The Timpani mixes the output of these two LEDs to ensure exact color temperature in CCT mode, and accurate color reproduction in Gel mode.
Intuitive On-Unit Interface with LCD Display
You have enough to focus on while you're shooting, you shouldn't have to focus on understanding your lights, too. That's why we made operating the Timpani simple and intuitive. The Timpani is designed with photographers and videographers in mind, and it doesn't take an engineering degree to figure out how to use it. We've kept the interface simple so it's easy to adjust brightness and color and switch between the CCT, RGB, Filter, and Special Effects modes.
Diffusion
The included removable diffuser softens the beam for a wraparound light that's flattering to your subjects. It also eliminates the harsh multiple shadows that's common in LED lighting.
Size and Weight
If you're tired of lugging around lights that feel as heavy as anvils, the Timpani is the LED fixture you've been waiting for. It's less than 3 inches deep, and weighs less than 7 pounds. That lightweight and compact combination makes the Timpani easy to transport and store.
Power Options
The Timpani runs on AC power via the 4-pin XLR input. If you're not near an outlet or in the field, you have the option of running the Timpani on battery power via the integrated V-mount plate on the rear of the fixture.
DMX
The Timpani is DMX 512 compatible with control of CCT, RGB (HSL), and Filter (GEL) modes in 8- and 16-bit operation modes. And with its 5-pin XLR I/O connectors, you're ready to join any lighting grid or daisy chain your lights.
Included Yoke Mount
The Timpani includes a sturdy all-metal yoke with a 5/8-inch receiver for convenient light-stand mounting. The yoke also features tilt control and height adjustment for balancing your light.
