Is there an audio latency with the video or is it spot on?
Asked by: Ronald
I use this device for streaming. With the Elgato as the video source and my M-Audio 2x2 USB Audio interface as the audio source, there is a very consistent 4 frame lag in the video. Just enough to be noticeable. However, if you route the audio through the camera, eg with the camera's onboard microphone port, then it will transmit down the HDMI cable into this Elgato device, and you can set this device as both the audio and video input. This way your AV will be in sync.

Will this work with an iPad Pro?
Asked by: John
I just tried it, and the iPad doesnt recognize the camera at all. I looked all over the Elgato site and there was nothing about being able to stream to an iPad. It seems the only way I could do this is if Elgato had specific software to enable this, and it doesnt appear that they do.

can this be used too turn my Panasonic GH5 into a webcam?
Asked by: gavriel
If your Panasonic can output its source through HDMI cable live, then it should work. For example, I'm using a Canon camcorder that outputs its signal through HDMI. This could be used to connect the camera to a TV so I can see in real time what the camera is recording. In my case, I'm using the camcorder as a webcam for my daughter. Once the camera is on, it's plugged into the Cam Link, and the PC recognizes it as a web cam. Depending on your camera, you can clean up your output so all you see is the video and not the battery level, focus/metering/etc.

Does Premiere Pro recognize this video capture ...

Does Premiere Pro recognize this video capture device?
Asked by: Jerry
I'm a bit confused by this question. Cam Link isn't a video camera, it's a device that turns a camera into something capable of streaming. So if you have a camera that shoots in a format that Premiere can read (i.e. most everything) than you're good. If you're asking, can you live record something directly into Premiere...I have no clue and honestly don't know why you'd want to do that if Premiere could.
