They work as advertised, I occasionally have some issues with the autofocus, but I'm not sure if it's because of the tubes or my camera, which is an older model. To fix it, I just unlock the tubes and relock them to both the lens and the camera body.

Haven't used them much, but they do the job. I have a nice macro lens, but these can be useful.

Always wanted to add macro photography to my adventures and this is a great way to try it out without spending the bucks for a dedicated macro lens. If I end up wanting to do it often then then maybe but for now these are working fine and take great photos while keeping auto focus if you choose to use it. Mainly use manual focus but find the auto focus to work well for quick takes.

Only used it once so far but it was VERY easy to use. Still trying to figure out how to get what I want from it but I like how much closer I can get with this extension tube set.

The camera has a tendency to reject the tube. It will not accept the tube. The camera goes off. You have to shut the camera in install and install the battery. The finish of the tubes are rough.

I wanted to try macro shots without buying a macro lens. I'll likely make that step soon, but these gave me a chance to experiment. I used a Canon prime 50mm f/1.2 lens with them. I had to use the shorter two, the longer one would not work with the 50mm lens as it focused too close - my lens had to touch the subject. Photos look crisp and clear.

Yes. You will need an EF-to-RF adapter in order to mount the Vello Auto Extension Tube set for EF/EF-S mount lenses (V2) but it will function well within this combination.

If I'm going to use a Canon lens on a Sony camera am I better to get the Canon-mount extension tube and put it before the adapter, or a Sony-mount extension tube, and put it after the adapter? Any functional difference? Thanks.

I would suggest the EF extension tubes with a Canon to sony adapter. You will have to set your aperture manually. FotodioX Canon EF Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Pro Fusion Smart AF Adapter Enables Autofocus and Auto Exposure (BH #FOEOSANEXP). You will experience light loss as you increase the tube length.

How close would it get to a jumping spider if i added these to my 100 macro L series 2.8 is usm lens ?

I've used these on my 100 L 2.8 IS lens with my 5DSR, and was nearly touching the subject, maybe 1/2 - 2 inches away, depending on how many you stack together...so the thought of being that close to a jumping spider gives me the willies as I'm sure it would bite my face, but you sound braver than I am, so you'll be all set :) All joking aside though, the extension tubes do get you so close that I've never had success with a live subject. It's probably best for something inanimate, or very very slow moving. Also, it gives you a very small window of focus--most of your frame will be out of focus with an awesome, tack-sharp area in focus. Good luck!
