The 6' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Sony flashes with ADI / P-TTL capabilities and the Multi Interface Shoe. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 6', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

Vello OCS-SM Overview

The 6' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Sony flashes with ADI / P-TTL capabilities and the Multi Interface Shoe. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 6', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.

NOTE: Not compatible with Sony a1 camera body or the Godox TT685II flash.

This flash cord is ok, not very strong, a bit cheap feeling. Hard to know if they're just making it work with the horrible Sony flash interface. Sony TTL pins are terrible and every connection is always horrible.

The connectors fit well to the camera and flash unit, and the communication between the two units works as promised. The 6.5' cable is heavier than expected; perhaps I should have ordered the shorter version. If you want to protect the contacts in the connectors, you will need to order a flash foot protector ($5.79) and hot shoe cap ($4.99). I think Vello should provide them with the cable. Instead, the cable connectors come with bubble-wrap booties -- hence, four stars.

Strong and well constructed. Interfaces with the Sony pins on both ends as expected. I bought the 6.5 foot model as I wanted some space between me and the flash and I was surprised how well built the cable and connects were. Nice high quality cable covering material, not cheap as you might expect. Has flashed every time I used it.

Yes. The original Sony DSC-RX10 (as well as subsequent generations of the DSC-RX10) will work with the Vello off-camera TTL flash cord for the Sony MI-shoe.

We would not recommend using this as aligning the center pin may prove to be annoying and the Sony hot shoe has a row of contacts under that front edge that can easily get damaged.
