Samsung RU8000 Overview

View content at four times the resolution of 1080p with the Samsung RU8000 82" Class HDR 4K UHD Smart LED TV. This TV has a 81.5" LED-backlit LCD panel, and incorporates Motion Rate 240 technology to digitally enhance fast-moving images to reduce blur. It is compatible with the HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG HDR formats to provide a wider color gamut with compatible content and other equipment for more vivid images.

The RU8000 has built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity to provide access to your favorite apps and Internet-based content, plus content sharing and screen mirroring with your other smart devices such as your smartphone or tablet. With four HDMI inputs, there are multiple options for connecting high-definition video sources. Two USB ports are also onboard for connecting multimedia peripherals like flash drives. Bixby, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa functionality is also supported.

Loud pop followed by no power. Lasted less than 3 years with minimal use. By comparison my Sony LCD continues to last 15 years and my Sony OLED with 6* more usage is still operational

Cannot select audio track playing any Mkv files

you cannot select to 2nd language when playing Mkv files. It's possible for other brands even with lower models. this seems to be known issues for many Samsung model in Samsung forum but no one from Samsung seem to care.

This TV was exactly what I was looking for. Everything was easy about this process, amid the COVID regulations. B&H online ordering was the route I went and if you know what you are looking for , I highly recommend this process. Currently have the tv on a wall mount and that was a breeze as well. Overall would definitely recommend this unit to another consumer!

Brightness is Not an Issue

I read a lot of other reviews and many complained about brightness and I think I know why...they never tried the other picture modes. It’s an easy feature to navigate to with the remote and changes everything about the screen and when you select the right one your brightness is more than adequate.Setup is fairly quick for a smart TV (and typical). It is an amazing TV for both movies and gaming, the refresh rate is fantastic. It will recognize your game system (if game settings are enabled on the system) and automatically change TV mode to Gaming Mode to take advantage of the gaming features. It did not come with the aft installation bolts but did come with some plastic standoffs required to use when you walk mount that fit into the bolt inserts.

Superb picture; anemic directions for setting up and maneuvering through all the different possibilities, having to figure out a great deal on your own. Free movies is relative!!!

Huge TV

I added this 82 inch TV to our TV room after having a 60 in LG for the last few years. The picture is great for movies and just regular TV shows. I find myself looking for movies to watch to see how much better they'll look on this TV compared to my others. Overall, I am very happy with it so far. I like the fact that it has Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime TV already loaded onto it. The Samsung TV channels are a plus also. Ad free TV is always a good thing!

Hdmi functionality lost

11months and the TV is bricked. Sent a service technician out exposing myself to covid and they did not fix the problem either. Last time I am going to buy from BH and Samsung

I chose this 2019 model over the 2020 model as the 2019 model was rated higher than the 2019. The picture is outstanding! Easy to setup! I got it unboxed, and setup in less than 30 minutes. Great TV!

Quantum dot technolgy vs standard LED technology: One main difference between today's QLED TVs from Samsung and that brand's or any other company's LCD/LED TVs is that the new QLED models offer new, specialized metallic quantum dot nano-particle filters over their LEDs for purer, more accurate and more saturated colors.
