Datacolor SpyderX Elite Reviews

My monitors now have consistent color

I typically run three monitors, 2- 25 and a single 27. They are all different brands but work well for what I do. I started getting more into Lightroom and photo/video editing so I needed to ensure my monitors provide the same output. I purchased the Datacolor SpyderX Elite and quickly got started on calibrating my monitors. The process for all three took less than 15 minutes and they are now consistent. I had to knock one star off because the instructions are a little confusing but I managed to work through it. We will see how things turn out in a few weeks when I check the calibration.

I used to calibrate my computer. I needed to get the room lights optimized to get good feedback from the App to adjust my monitor. On third try it seems correct.

Works as expected

This was used to calibrate three ASUS ProArt 4k displays. Cons: It took some experimentation with the software and displays to understand exactly what the software was attempting to do, but after a little experimentation, I figured out the process. I ignored the ambient room light suggestions as they seemed pretty much useless as were the default luminance (Brightness) values. Pros: Once I manually entered the brightness values needed for one of the displays, I proceeded to calibrate each display with the parameters I manually set and used on the initial display and the results were spot on and repeatable! The color shift that I was experiencing and brightness variances were no longer perceptible. This was an excellent purchase, and I would not hesitate to recommend.

I run two monitors off of the same computer and this device does a decent job of matching them.

I was skeptical at first paying this much for this device with software that look like it's from the 90's but it worked great! Calibrated my monitors seamlessly

Easy to use, more consistency across devices.

I've used the device on Surface Pro7, Dell 7420, MSI gaming notebook, I have monitors connected to the devices. The colors across the monitors look more consistent. Still waiting on prints to be delivered but overall happy with the purchase.

For the money, I could be more pleased.

Working to get my photographs into the market I knew I had an issue with darker images. Unless I did something to address it, my answer was to use more paper and ink, trial and error, to get them right. Combined with the canon software for the Canon Pro-1000 and the Datacolor SpyderX, my problem was corrected quickly... And as usual, the processing of my order and delivery was just as efficient! Did not work with my M1 MacBook Pro

By Michael

The software installed fine. But at the end of the calibration process an error window popped up and the screen turned a dark blue. I could barely read the screen. I back out of the calibration and tried again. Same issue. So I retired to my out of box state and quit. Hopefully there is a software update soon.
