Polaroid Originals OneStep+ Reviews

Disappointed

After reviewing many on line reviews I chose this camera as the one that most likely to provide the best quality photos for my throw back wedding project. My expectation were based on the old vintage camera my family had while growing up and thinking that if those photos at that quality would be good enough for this project, buying this camera which adding today's technology the quality must be better. It is fair to note we were shooting in a dimmed light setting but had external lighting on scene. However, the picture quality was not even close to the old standard and images were dark which made identifying individual hard. My team tried to make any correction, by adding lights, implementing the suggestions provided by the app and on line videos but could not obtain any success. The project could not be completed, the client was disappointed and I am going to return this camera.

Get the Fujifilm Instax cameras instead

Bought this for my partner, we wanted to like this product but it seems to have focus issues amongst other issues. Out of the 8 frames we shot, two were out of focus. We were taking photos further than the minimum focus distance. Photos also seemed to be a bit too dim and skintones looked too pastel. Colors were extremely retro to a ridiculous extent. One of the shots also had some chemical smearing. Camera had some neat features, but due to 3 out of 8 photos being useable and the high cost of the film, I highly recommend sticking to Fuji Instax Square and Wide. The Fuji instax cameras are more reliable. Instax squares are smaller unfortunately but the cameras are also smaller. So it's a great portable option, especially if you want to fit in a travel bag. The color, and look of the shots are much better. Skintones definitely have a more traditional film look. The photos look more like what my family and I shot in the 90s and early 2000s . Each roll has 10 frames and the cost of film is much cheaper than polaroid's. I hope Polaroid fixes these problems.

I watched and read 1000 reviews between this camera and a Fuji Instax. I’m glad I decided to go with the Polaroid. The app connectivity works great, and adds a ton of features that are super usable. The film is a little more expensive but I think it’s worth every red cent. I love the picture quality. The build quality of the camera is really nice, feels good and tough. I would reccomend this camera to anyone looking for an instant format camera.

This camera, in my opinion, is great for those who are looking to spice up their aesthetic. I believe the Bluetooth connectivity allows beginners to quickly learn how to utilize the camera and know how to shoot with it as well. The app is a perfect complement to this camera and the black color really is a beauty. Before buying the camera I would advise beginners to learn a little bit about how lighting works. although the polaroid has a great flash, I do believe to get great photos every time, knowing how to use light and how to light your subjects will allow you to really take off with this camera. Also, If you could invest in getting some camera lens with this camera, you will have a lot more fun with it.

If you mean a self-timer for selfies, yes it does. The Self-Timer settings are 1 second or 12 second. It also has time exposure with the smartphone app if you mean that.
