My card formatted to 232GB on my Canon 5Ds R. 24GB seems like too much to lose to file overhead, etc. and I’m thinking I got a bad one. Anyone else come up short?
Asked by: Bill
Thanks to you both. Yes, I expect some overhead; 24 GB just seemed over the top. Much bigger fish to fry these days, sadly.

I bought this card and tryed formatting it in my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III. It just sits there?? Does this card take a long time to format in a camera???
Asked by: John
The Kingston 256GB Canvas Focus CompactFlash Memory Card should only take between 15-30 seconds to format inside your camera. If the formatting process is stuck, or if the card will not format inside the camera, I would first check inside the memory card compartment of your camera to ensure none of the contact pins are bent out of place. Second, if you have another memory card, I would try formatting the other memory card in the camera to ensure there is no issue with the camera. If your second memory card works, but the Kingston card is not working, then the card you received may be defective. If the card was purchased within the last 30 days, you may contact our Customer Service Department to inquire about returning the memory card for an exchange or a refund. If you have owned the card for longer than 30 days, as the memory card comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, you may contact Kingston for assistance by calling them toll-free at 800-435-0640.
