does these lenses have a specific characteristic to it? Is it maybe more on the vintage side or is it a modern sharp lens?

This lens leans more on the modern, sharp end, but still has some very fine, delicate rendering and a very subtle cinema-like look. It is elegant and simple in a very subtle way.
