Audio-Technica Consumer AT-LP60X Reviews
Perfect Turntable
Turntable and matching cartridge and stylii provide realistic, in person listening of jazz, C&W, and classical music from old 33.3 rpm records. Records are in new -no scratches, condition. Reproduction is far superior to any and all of my CD's. Receiver amplifier is a Yamaha RX V677 purchased from B&H many years ago. Used daily for about 16 hours - music during day - program audio in evenings. Still performs perfectly. Speakers are a mixture of AR, Onkyo and Yamaha.
It's the sound that matters
Hi, I asked B&H for record player recommendations to pair with my Teac tape deck and Harman Kardon amp. Customer service recommended this player way under my budget. I thought it was plasticky when I opened the box and connected this record player to my system. I put the first record on the platter and the AT-LP60X started making some grinding sounds. I expected the sound was going to mirror my first impressions of cheapness. As soon as the arm swung over the record, the player stopped making the gear changing sounds, and the music that came over the speakers was clear and very enjoyable. My first impressions were wrong. This component is a high-quality player that focuses on performance. The price means that Audio-Technica isn't going to make the body out of wood or other exotic material, and the mechanism isn't going to be sound insulated. For the price, I can live with those budget characteristics because the sound is better than the Marantz turntable I replaced, which cost way more than this player. I give this player two thumbs up for performance and budget considerations!
Quality and price - great balance
Good turntable for this price. Not the most well made equipment but it does what it should.
Sounds and looks great
I didn't change anything else in my sound system and yet with this turntable my records sound so much clearer.
junk
i would be ashamed to sell a product as poorly made a s this audio technica turn table .right from the start it did not work. it did not track the 33 disc and the sound was garbage.Audio-TECNICA for me........never aagain
Great service and quality
Very pleased with order handling by B&H. When other sources were out of stock, B&H offered a selection with free next-day delivery. My unit was delivered the next day, with a large protective carton outside. The smooth quiet operation of the automatic mechanism, the definition of the sound, and the stereo separation were quite extraordinary, close to listening to the same records on my Dual 1249 turntable some fifty years ago. I would mention also that this is a compact and very modern, attractive unit. Speaking with customer service for help with the assembly was a pleasure. On this note, a single caveat: Ignore the enclosed leaflet, go to audiotechnika.com and print the real 11-page manual.
Vinyl Memories
Was looking for a simple to use, automatic (just push start button) turntable that could play my old vinyl records. This unit works perfectly, was easy to set up and sounds great. Brings back so many memories playing those 70s and 80s records.
Great for the money!
It sounds perfectly fine, but I wish there was no auto needle-drop. It throws me off when I try to move it and it starts to move on it's own in my hand. No complaints!
