Can I use this with Nikon D850 + Tamron 150-600 lens?. Can this Gimble fit on a Benro tripod? Does this support Arca type mount?
Asked by: p
Yes, the Magnus GH-M1 is compatible with a Nikon D850 with a Tamron 150-600mm lens. This will mount onto a Benro tripod, or any tripod with a 3/8"-16 mounting screw, and it uses the traditional arca-swiss dovetail.

I purchased this product and I put my sigma 150-600mm and the 2x teleconveter and pointed to the moon, so it was a step angle. And all the pictures came blur for movement slowly going down. when you said to balance the camera and the lens? How can I make sure they are balanced? And can I purchase a bigger nob to tight better when in angle?
Asked by: Reina
A ballhead or pan and tilt head would be better if you don't want to move the camera while shooting; a gimbal head is meant for making photographs of moving subjects, like birds in flight, or racing cars, using a very long telephoto lens. To lock the camera securely at an angle, a different type of tripod head would be a better choice.

I just took mine out, and surprise: the arm swings freely through 360 degrees. You also might be able to reorient the mount plate by undoing the stop screw.

Sorry, I do not use the Oben tripods, I have several Manfrottos. The gimbal head works with all of them. If the Oben has a threaded stud in the center I don't see why it would not work.

How wide is it (from the center of plate?) Will it fit the wide 400 f2.8 IS i ?
Asked by: Mathew
Yes, the Canon Telephoto EF 400mm f/2.8L IS Image Stabilizer USM Autofocus Lens (B&H# RBC40028LISE) could fit in the Magnus GH-M1 Gimbal Head (B&H# MAGHM1) if placed far enough forward in the clamp for the lens plate. However, that may not leave the camera and lens well balanced. We'd recommend the Oben GH-30 Gimbal Head (B&H# OBGH30): https://bhpho.to/3Ataa1T If your budget allows, the top of the line in this genre is the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base (B&H# WITHQRQ): https://bhpho.to/3yxU0DV
