A single-lens solution for most shooting situations, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 from Olympus is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and covers a huge 24-400mm equivalent focal length range. Despite its long reach, the lens is also characterized by its portable form factor, close 8.7" minimum focusing distance, and sophisticated optical design, which includes a variety of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements to produce well-corrected imagery. A ZERO coating has also been applied to help reduce lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, this lens utilizes a Movie & Stills Compatible AF system to achieve smooth, fast, and near-silent focusing performance to benefit both photo and movie applications.

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Reviews
Now a favorite
Had a lot of doubts about this lens -- reports of sticking, large, heavy, maybe too heavy for M43 bodies. But after a year's worth of use, I am glad I ordered it and pretty much keep it on my E-m1iii body. With Olympus IBIS, and keepers up to ISO6400, even good in very low light -- see photo with review -- snapped at dawn. I also have the 14-150ii, but prefer this for its longer range.
Great All Around Lens
I haven't had a lot of time to really work with this lens but so far I love it. It's sharp, fast, and light. This could become my new walk-around lens when I get to travel again.
Good bang for the buck, but...
I'm pleased with the performance of this lens. It has great reach for a walk around lens and isn't terrible heavy. I've only shot about 20 or so shots with this lens but the image quality and the sharpness are quite acceptable. I took a hand held picture of a monarch butterfly high in a tree. Olympus E-M1Mark III 1/400th sec, at f/7.1,iso 200, 400mm zoom. I was able to crop down by about 300 percent and still got a good Sharp image of this diminishing Hymenoptera. My only complaint is that the lens hood is rather flimsy and fragile. I managed to break it with in the first week I had it. The real rub is that a replacement is about $50 for this poor quality hood!
Perfect Lens
Great optics
OK for back-up lens
My favorite lens is the 300 prime, which I really like very much. This is meant to be a back-up lens and will serve the purpose. It takes some getting used to after using the 300 prime. Perhaps I just need to practice with it more.
Versatile and convenient.
I got this as a replacement for my 75-300 which stopped working. I miss the reach as I do bird photography. I am a fine artist who uses photos for reference. Now I do not have to change lenses so with this one lens I can catch a landscape or a bee on a flower. I was surprised at how the versatility of the lens helps me to envision all the possibilities of subjects in front of me. It has been great for video here is an example of one of the 3 videos that I has done since having this lens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssn8VxlfS74
Excellent Lens!
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Lens has quickly become my favorite lens. Is is perfect for all occasions? No, of course not, but it is extremely versatile. The 24-400mm equivalent focal length lets me go from wide angle to a very close up zoom in a small package. This has become my everyday lens. It stays on my OM-D E-M5 Mark III 99% of the time. This lens has gone around my yard, neighborhood, town, and a few minor league baseball games with me. It never fails to deliver.
Nice all-in-one lens
I bought this lens as an all-in-one walk around lens for travel photography. The full frame equivalent of 24-400 makes it very versatile, the weather sealing takes the worry out of wandering around, and the overall weight and size make it a good companion to my E-M5 MkIII. The finish/feel is not as nice as the pro lenses, but the cost isn't the same either. It functions fine and output is typical Olympus, I haven't come across a bad lens in all the ones I've bought. I know some will say that the images can't be as crisp as say the 12-40 or 40-150 but I've not seen a real difference. All in all I'm very happy with the lens.
