I've owned two Ricoh GR III and they both lost their ring cap at some point. From what I read online, other Ricoh GR III owners have had the same misfortune. The ring cap is simply a bit too loose. Anyway, I ordered two GN-1 ring caps ( a black one and a dark gray one) since it seems highly likely that I'll lose another in the future. The dark gray one looks really good on the camera, so either colors will work fine. I also got a GN-2 ring cap (by mistake) and it doesn't fit the Ricoh GR III but only the Ricoh GR IIIx - even B&H states that the Ricoh GN-2 cap is designed for the GR III cameras : it will only fit the GR IIIx...
Original fell off because it was always coming off during normal handling. This one is no better so I’ve had to attach a small piece of gaffer tape to keep it secure.
