In celebration of Tamron's 40th anniversary of the SP lens series, the Nikon F-mount SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD has been created to showcase their lens-making capabilities. This flexible wide-angle prime is ideal for general shooting applications, ranging from street photography to event shooting, and its impressively bright f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in difficult lighting conditions and offers increased control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements, which control a variety of aberrations in order to achieve high image clarity and sharpness. A BBAR-G2 coating has also been applied, and helps to reduce flare and ghosting for improved color and contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics, a USD motor and Dynamic Rolling-cam mechanism are also employed to ensure quick, quiet autofocus performance along with seamless full-time manual focus override. Additionally, the lens features a moisture-resistant construction along with a front fluorine coating to support working in harsh weather conditions.

Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Reviews
As good as they say
It's unfortunate that the rendition on this lens is like no other because I really didn't want to carry this heavy thing around. But it really is that good!
Great lens
Tamron SP lens are top notch in build quality and optics. Have had this lens for several weeks now, very sharp lens. Image quality is surperb.l am very much pleased in every aspect. Wonderful portrait lens. Would highly recommend.
Hesitant buy, but with Canon so backordered...
I really wanted to be patient and wait for the Canon 35mm f1.4. The reviews I had seen made me feel like it was worth the price difference and I've been hesitant to stray to a 3rd party lens. But when 2-4 weeks of backorder turned into months with no end in sight, I gave in and decided to try out the Tamron. I am very, very pleased with it. Crisp, clear pictures, and super solid! May even give my Canon 50mm a run for its money. So glad I took a chance on this one!
Better than me
Just a bit about my use case. I am a hobbyist. I have been a prime shooter since I moved past the kit lens I got with my first dslr. Over the years I have grown to love the 35mm focal length. I knew I would never drop almost 2k on the Canon 1.4 but I was always intrigued by them. I liked my Canon f2 is usm but I wanted more. So I pulled the trigger on the Tamron. It gets nothing but rave reviews by the experts and everything they say is true. It is sharper throughout the aperture range by far when compared to my Canon. It is amazingly sharp and clear. The colors render wonderfully. The build is solid and sturdy. And I absolutely love weather sealing. Living in the desert southwest means nonstop dust. It is heavy but not as large as I thought it would be. Would buy it again. Feel like I own a masterpiece of a 35mm prime now. Going to really enjoy continuing to practice the art of photography with it.
Best prime lens ever
I was absolutely astounded with the quality and feel of this lens the moment I took it out of the box. I am primarily using this lens for car photography since it is a large hobby of mine. I took a few photos of my dog with the lens paired with my new Nikon D610 and I was amazed by the buttery smooth bokeh, sharpness, and snappy autofocus. The 1st reason I decided to get this lens is because I had heard multiple good things about it from other photographers that shoot similar objects to me and haven't heard a bad thing about. The 2nd reason I got this lens is because since I was buying an older used full frame (upgrading from Nikon D3500 to D610) I decided to go all in on the lens and I have no regrets or complaints. B&H of course did an amazing job as usual with shipping and even came a day earlier than it was expected to arrive!
Using it with a Z6
Lovely combo! Super sharp photos. No regrets of getting this lens instead of the Z 35 f/1.8.
Exquisite
Fantastic Lens !!! Love my purchase
