24.1MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 4+ Image Processor

At the heart of the Rebel T7 is an apt 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4+ image processor, which combine to provide both speed throughout the camera system as well as notable image quality. Up to 3 fps shooting is possible to suit photographing moving subjects—for up to 150 consecutive JPEGs in a burst or up to 11 consecutive raw frames—and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps can also be recorded. For working in a variety of lighting conditions, the sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 can be further expanded to ISO 12800 to benefit photographing in low-light situations.

9-Point AF System

A 9-point phase-detection autofocus system incorporates a single cross-type point to lend a high degree of focusing accuracy in mixed and low-contrast lighting conditions. This focusing system also utilizes an AI Servo AF mechanism for faster tracking and more accurate results.

Body Design and Built-In Wi-Fi

  • A large 3.0" 920k-dot LCD monitor serves as a bright means for live view shooting and image playback.
  • An optical pentamirror viewfinder presents a bright, clear view of the scene when shooting stills and is ideal for quick-paced subject tracking and working in bright conditions.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi with NFC permits pairing the DSLR with a smartphone or tablet for wirelessly sharing photos and movies for instant online posting.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity also enables wireless remote control over the camera from linked mobile devices using the Camera Connect app.
  • Compatible with the full lineup of Canon EF and EF-S-mount lenses.

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens

Included with the camera body is the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, which provides a 28.8-88mm equivalent focal length range that covers wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives. One aspherical element is featured in the optical design, to control spherical aberrations and contribute to higher clarity, and an Optical Image Stabilizer minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.

Moving up from T-3

I got a lot of good use and photos from my T-3, but I decided to update, so I ordered the T7, which was about the same price the T3 was several years ago. 24mp was the major draw, but I'm starting to use it and am finding other features that were not on my T3. I look forward to learning how to get the best photos from my new camera.

Very Happy

As a reporter, I need a versatile workhorse. My Canon T6 did the job for five years. Now, as an artist, I use the T7 for top quality prints as well. It is a great camera for the price and since I am not a professional photographer, the auto is perfect for my needs and top quality prints. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to love! eleanorguerrerostudio.com

Does just what I need.

I purchased this camera just to take photos of items for sale. I was using a much more expensive camera and wanted something less expensive. This fits the bill. It works flawlessly and produces great photographs. Lightweight and easy to use. Very happy.

Nice upgrade

I bought this the other day because the lens on my other Canon died. It only made sense to buy the entire camera instead of paying $$$ out the butt for the lens only. I love this one, slightly upgraded with nice features. I'm happy! :-)

Great starter camera! The one downside is not being able to wirelessly connect to a computer via the wifi function (that I could find),

Not as happy as I thought I'd be

I've had a 60D for over 10 years and it was a fantastic camera. I knew the T7 could not compare to the 60D, but thousands of pics later it had to be replaced and at 71 I couldn't afford the price of a model comparible to the 60D. If you take a lot of high school sport pictures, i.e. volleyball, basketball, track, etc., the speed of the T7 is far too slow to get great pics. I'm back to trying to use my 60D until it totally quits working.

Good Entry-level DSLR But Missing An Important Feature

By Cheyenne

This is a very good camera that will meet the needs of anyone who wants to start taking good pictures right out of the box. For those that later want to learn about all the variables that affect how a photo appears: aperture, white balance, focus, etc. this camera has more than enough settings to allow you to customize your results and take learning to the next level. My biggest complaint about this camera is that it doesn't support the Canon remote control so you have to use Wifi and an app on your phone. The app works most of time once it is setup, but the camera regularly disconnects from Wifi and has to be re-setup all the time. This interrupts the flow of my work and for my use case is an issue. Time will tell if I learn to live with it or if I upgrade to a newer model that supports the remote control so that once my camera is setup for a shot I can just push a button to release the shutter rather than having to setup Wifi and use the app for each shot.
