24.1MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 4+ Image Processor

At the heart of the Rebel T7 is an apt 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4+ image processor, which combine to provide both speed throughout the camera system as well as notable image quality. Up to 3 fps shooting is possible to suit photographing moving subjects—for up to 150 consecutive JPEGs in a burst or up to 11 consecutive raw frames—and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps can also be recorded. For working in a variety of lighting conditions, the sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 can be further expanded to ISO 12800 to benefit photographing in low-light situations.

9-Point AF System

A 9-point phase-detection autofocus system incorporates a single cross-type point to lend a high degree of focusing accuracy in mixed and low-contrast lighting conditions. This focusing system also utilizes an AI Servo AF mechanism for faster tracking and more accurate results.

Body Design and Built-In Wi-Fi

  • A large 3.0" 920k-dot LCD monitor serves as a bright means for live view shooting and image playback.
  • An optical pentamirror viewfinder presents a bright, clear view of the scene when shooting stills and is ideal for quick-paced subject tracking and working in bright conditions.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi with NFC permits pairing the DSLR with a smartphone or tablet for wirelessly sharing photos and movies for instant online posting.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity also enables wireless remote control over the camera from linked mobile devices using the Camera Connect app.
  • Compatible with the full lineup of Canon EF and EF-S-mount lenses.

EOS Webcam Utility

Extending the capabilities of the camera, Canon's EOS Webcam Utility software lets you turn your camera into a versatile webcam by just connecting it to a computer via USB. Compatible with a variety of streaming apps, including ZOOM, YouTube Live, Microsoft Teams, and more, this software also maintains the ability to record internally while livestreaming.

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II and EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lenses

Included with the camera body is the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, which provides a 28.8-88mm equivalent focal length range that covers wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives. One aspherical element is featured in the optical design, to control spherical aberrations and contribute to higher clarity, and an Optical Image Stabilizer minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.

Extending the combined zoom range even further, the EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III lens is also included, which offers an equivalent focal length range of 120-480mm. Well-suited to use with distant subjects, this lens utilizes a DC autofocus motor to acquire precise focus while the telephoto perspective is especially useful for visually compressing the space between subjects and producing a shallow depth of field.

Additionally, an EOS Shoulder Bag 200ES is also featured in this kit, and serves as a convenient means to protect and carry the entire DSLR and two lens kit.

Canon Rebel T7 Reviews

Another Great Rebel

The Rebel T7 performing just as I'd hoped so far - excellent. Before purchasing this T7 recently I've been using a Canon 5D Mark IV for my primary camera, which replaced an old Canon Rebel T2i I'd carried for over 10 years (and loved) until it reached the end of it's useful life. The 5D is a phenomenal camera, but I found I still had a use for a lighter weight camera that wasn't so precious - I travel a lot and found that my old T2i was great because I didn't care about stuffing it into checked luggage or worry about leaving it in a hotel room unattended, which is something I didn't want to do with my 5D. I considered buying another T2i used (which I'd already done once) but decided I was done buying used cameras, and instead of researching a million cameras decided to return to the Rebel line since the T2i had served me so well for so long. I bought the T7 while in NYC one afternoon, pulled it from the box and immediately began shooting on the street. It was literally like using my T2i all over again. Almost none of the interface had changed - it was like having an old friend at my side. Wonderful build, quality and results thus far. I've only taken a few hundred shots for far but I'm very please to have made this purchase. Can't wait to see what else it has in store.

Good. Inexpensive. It's fine. Nothing special. If you can afford it, I'd recommend going better, but a hobbyist or someone not doing it professionally or learning, it's fine.

It is a very good camera but due to lack of 1/3 stop iso's and movable screen one star is being taken off the rating.

The ease of ordering and the promptness of its arrival at my doorstep in and of itself is a reason to order from this company. The website information helped me greatly in figuring out which camera would be right for me. All in all, I'd definitely both order from them again and share about this company with family and friends! Beth

I had all most 2 yrs. of schooling back in 1982. in black & white, now with this new digital camera is like starting all over, my last camera was an AE 1, with a winder, is very heavy, with this new one is like wow so very light, it is going to be great to carry around. I look forward to learning all over again.

Specs say operating temperature of 32F to 104F. Is this camera not useable outside in northern winters?
Asked by: Bob
I live in Michigan, USA where we get some bad winters; I have used the camera in low temperature weather, but it's not advised because of the hardware can decrease its lifespan if its out in the cold for too long. Similar to how phones shut off when its exposed in cold weather for a period of time, the camera will react the same way. The operating temperatures are there to ensure that the camera and its battery doesn't have significant damage to it. I would suggest that you if you are in colder temperatures to put it in the bag and close to your body so your body heat can keep it from getting too cold.

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T7 DSLR camera has the USB 2.0 Mini-B 5-pin input terminal built into the camera. The Canon IFC-200U USB Interface Cable - 6.9' (1.9 m), B&H # CAIFC200U, is the USB cable designed for use with the camera, though it would also be compatible for use with the Pearstone 7' Hi-Speed USB Type A Male to Mini USB Type B Cable with Ferrite Bead (Black), B&H # PEUSBAMB07FB.

Unfortunately, this is highly unlikely as Canon removed the center-pin from the T7 camera body. Certain brands of external flashes have made workarounds for this, but your results may vary based on the model of your speedlight.

Asked by: benjamin
The Rebel T7 is easy to use, but for complete beginners or someone looking for something that is just better than their phone, I would recommend getting a simpler (and cheaper) DSLR. However, if you are learning photography and want to be able to control ISO, aperture, shutter speed and the like, the Rebel T7 is a great camera to work with.
