The MC-21 Mount Converter enables the use of Sigma SA-mount lenses on L-mount mirrorless camera bodies, and maintains full lens performance, including autofocus in AF-S mode and auto-exposure, as well as in-camera correction and image stabilization technologies. An integrated LED can be used to display select Sigma lens compatibility with the adapted camera body, and the adapter also has pre-loaded lens data to support peripheral illumination, chromatic aberration, and distortion corrective functions. In order to maintain a high degree of image quality, the interior of the adapter is flocked to reduce reflections, and it also retains full EXIF data to benefit post-production and file management. Additionally, a removable tripod mount is included for more stable mounting when working with heavier lenses.

Sigma MC-21 Sigma SA Lenses to L-Mount Overview

The MC-21 Mount Converter enables the use of Sigma SA-mount lenses on L-mount mirrorless camera bodies, and maintains full lens performance, including autofocus in AF-S mode and auto-exposure, as well as in-camera correction and image stabilization technologies. Purchased this to mount my Sigma SA mount lens to my new Leica SL2S. Came with firmware 1.1 update to 1.3 available. Mainly compatible with newer ART series. One feet old lens doesn’t autofocus so that can still work as MF. Autofocus is slow on my 105 f2.8 DG HSM (non mirrorless version) but it does lock on perfectly. Two Aps-c art lens work perfectly fine with adapter and focus works fast. Highly recommend MC21 if you have SA mount lens from your sigma SD10, Sd14, SD15, SD1, SD Quattro days and you moved on to a L-mount camera in anticipation of the new Sigma Foveon camera (if ever).

I'm super happy with this adapter because I have two Sigma Quattro bodies and a range of Sigma Art lenses which work like a native on my new Panasonic S1R body, meaning my lens investment is not wasted.

The Sigma MC-21 Mount Converter/Lens Adapter is not compatible with the original Leica type 701. The only L mount cameras listed in the specifications as compatible with the MC-21 adapter are the Sigma S1, and the Sigma S1r
