Lexar 256GB UHS-II SDXC Overview

The 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from Lexar features a storage capacity of 256GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support advanced DSLR functions such as continuous shutter bursts and rapid shooting, as well as raw and JPEG captures. This card is also well-suited for video capture, including 4K, 3D, and Full HD video, and can achieve maximum read speeds of up to 250 MB/s and maximum write speeds of up to 120 MB/s. Thanks to its V60 speed class rating, minimum write speeds are guaranteed not to drop below 60 MB/s.

UHS-II cards achieve their speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V60 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V60. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantee minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

To help protect against accidental file deletion, there is a built-in write protect switch. To further safeguard against possible data loss, users can download free Image Rescue software that is designed to recover most photo and video files.

Great Cards for the Money

I have been using Lexar SD cards for for almost two years now with out any problems. I an sure that some other cards like the Sony rugged cards are better and if I was a professional who's lively hood depended on the cards, I might buy them. This is plenty fast enough for my Sony AR7 IV. I shoot mainly pictures and only burst occasionally.

I owned one of the Lexar 256GB Professional 1667x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card. I've been so impressed with it's performance, as I upgraded to the Sony A7sIII. It was an easy decision on getting another one.

On a good day it will transfer over 250MB/s and on a bad day slightly below. Have several of these cards and all of them work good in everyday use.

I often shoot live events with my Lumix GH5 or S1H and having a couple of bigger cards has made media management a bit easier. These Lexar 1667x series cards have worked perfectly for me - no hiccups or problems at all.

Defective Memory Card

I recently bought this card and it failed immediately when inserted into my Nikon Z7 II. Also, I tried to format the card in a Nikon D7200 with no luck. It is a waste of time. I contacted B&H to return it and they responded to my request quickly. Great customer service.

This Lexar Card has a V60 rating which the SanDisk card does not. Thus this is more suitable for higher bit rate video.

Is this card produce better RAW photos on D750? I generally use SanDisk - Extreme 256GB SDXC UHS-I. Thinking about using a better one.
Asked by: p
Stick with the memory you have. The D750 can't take advantage of the UHS-II's extra speed. Even if it could, your pictures would not be better, only stored faster.

We do not recommend this SD card for 4K recording with the Blackmagic Video Assist. This Lexar SD card is only V60 and the Video Assist requires a V90 UHS II SDXC card for reliable 4K recording. Consider the Angelbird 256GB AV Pro Mk 2 UHS-II SDXC Memory Card

We use it to film with our full frame Sony a7s3 and Sony FS6 in 4K 60fps 10bit without a problem. It also shoots 1090p 120 fps without a hiccup. Pretty sure it will handle anything any model LUMIX can throw at it.
