Im not sure. I put my d500 with lens and there is a little place left. So i guess you could put your d3s but not with the grip im afraid

Are the buckles/closures leather? or polyurethane?
They are leather. Also, the zippers have the little leather tags on them. The zippers themselves are cheap metal and one broke. I am not tough on my bag either. I'll be super-gluing a piece of metal in it's place. Other than that, it's a really solid bag! I love it! Hope this helps!
