RODE RODECaster Pro Overview

The Rode RODECaster Pro 4-Person Podcast Studio with PodMic Microphones, Headphones, and Broadcast Arms Kit from B&H brings together the elements necessary to begin producing a sophisticated 4-person podcast with guest calls and sound effects, within minutes of opening the box. The PodMics are optimized for use with the RODECaster Pro to deliver a balanced, easy-to-listen vocal tone, whether broadcasting a lively group discussion or an intimate conversation.

The PodMic is a dynamic microphone that does a great job capturing speakers near the mic while rejecting unwanted sounds further away. The included two-section broadcast arms make positioning the mics a snap. The XLR cables connect the mics to the RODECaster Pro podcast production studio, which features high-quality mic preamps and records to a microSD card. The Shure SRH240A headphones allow the host and guests to hear themselves and feature a closed-back, around the ear design for comfort and isolation.

Has anyone ever used this podcaster for voice ...

Has anyone ever used this podcaster for voice over work as a mic preamp and also to be able to to directed phone sessions with clients? I have been looking for a device to allow clients to hear me through my mic and be able to hear them through my headphones and also to be able to record their side of the phone call on a separate track and not affect my recording track. Being able to have their comments recorded in sun c with my read would be helpful. I would feed the output of the podcaster to my Adobe Auditions.
Asked by: Carlo
You should be able to achieve both the two way communication and separate recording track needs using the multitrack function of the device into a standard audio DAW and the TRRS/ Bluetooth inputs for your caller.

Can you change what goes to each headphone output or are they always the mix out? For example: can I have the microphone 1 and 2 go out to the headphone 1 output, while the headphone 2 output is only listening to the microphone 3, for example?

No. The headphone outputs are all copies of the main mix out.
