Note: When using the Envoy Pro EX with a Mac mini (Late 2018), users may experience intermittent disconnects when connected directly to one of the Mac mini's Thunderbolt 3 ports. To avoid this issue, OWC recommends connecting your Envoy Pro EX through another wall-powered Thunderbolt 3 device in a daisy chain. These intermittent disconnects only occur when connected directly to the Mac mini (Late 2018) and are not seen on other computer models. This issue has been reported to Apple for resolution.

Can I use this connected to MacPro 6,1?

The hardware requirement for this SSD drive is Thunderbolt 3. I wouldn't recommend this for a Late 2013 Mac Pro. Your computer doesn't support these speeds neither, without a Thunderbolt 3 port.

How durable is the hard wired cable proving to be? Wd you recommend for someone who travels a lot?

Though I've had this item a couple month now, it hasn't been through a lot of constant connecting rigor, but so far connects to my Thunderbolt input like any other device would. However, should the connection point ever become compromised it could be a problem as it is permanently attached to the drive itself, but I guess you could say that about any device at any point of connection. The drive works great!
