I already have an 8tb mini stack. Can two mini stacks be connected and work together. Or, would they need to run independently?

In theory you can use SoftRAID to create a RAID 0 or RAID 1 volume, but you will take performance hits since they are not in a single enclosure.

The OWC 20TB miniStack USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive does not connect to a network. This is a direct access drive that's connected directly to a Windows or Mac host computer via USB.

The OWC 8TB miniStack USB 3.1 Gen 1 External Hard Drive BH #OWCMSTK3H7T8 does not include a USB C cable but you could adapt it to USB C. It is compatible with the Mac Studio.
