question

Will this fit multiple 105w CFL bulbs?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately, the largest lamps that this unit can accept would be the following from Westcott: http://bhpho.to/1vCXSLO

Does the parabolic get too hot with the lamps?
Asked by: Anonymous
I haven't noticed any issues with heat. The fluorescent bulbs run fairly cool.

question

Is it practical to replace all of the fluorescent lamps with 50W LED bulbs? The Savage LED bulbs have fans in them.
Asked by: Mitch
If you choose, and as long as the LED bulbs have a standard E26 Edison base and the size of the bulbs fit without bumping into each other, the LED bulbs would be compatible for use with the Westcott Spiderlite TD6 light fixture.

question

Anyone using these for video work, such as interviews?
Asked by: Bob
I too use them for video work. I film real estate and like Terry said they produce a very pleasing light. I'm also using an A7Rii and they look gorgeous with it.

question

Is there a bag that will allow you to keep the TD6 bulbs in place when travelling to location?
Asked by: Anonymous
Not available in the product that I received. Each bulb is packaged individually and can be used for transport. Cushioned bag would be easier to use and provide more efficient setup.

question

Can I use 50w LED bulbs instead of Fluorescent?
Asked by: Mitch
The large base on LED bulbs including the Westcott 35w Basic LED Bulb can make it difficult to mount 6 bulbs in the TD6. Also, Most LED bulbs also have a heat sensor to prevent damage to the bulb and 6-50 bulbs within the softbox may trigger that sensor and cause the unit to shut down. 5 of the Westcott LED bulbs (fill central socket with smaller based LED bulb) can work and has been tested in the large shallow over several hours with no heat shut down. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1297215-REG/westcott_367_daylight_led_lamp_with.html

question

Do these lights are powerful enough to keep the ISO low for shooting photos?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. I film real estate and many times I have to dim the lights so they don't over power the room.
