This was a direct replacement for my old ALFA Network WiFi CampPro 2v2. The old RV DC power supply and external Wifi antenna plugged into the Archer without issue.

Very short-lived

The router worked fine for the first 15 months. However, I woke up one morning to work from home and found that it no longer had internet access. The wireless system was working, but something in the WAN circuitry had gone bad. I had to revert back to an 8-year-old TP-Link 802.11n router instead.

After less than 7 months, it broke and it doesn't connect to the Spectrum modem. When trying to connect to the router via browser, it returns a WAN connection error page.

A good purchase for a home.

This router is very easy to configure. Be sure to update the BIOS first, and then install you final user name and password. The controls for the wireless setup are simple - channel (or auto), bandwidth, name and password, and guest network.

The Archer A7 AC1750 supports TP-Link's OneMesh ecosystem so if you have other Tp Link OneMesh products, yes it will. It will not work with other products from other companies as a mesh node.

Does this work with Cpomcast X-finity and Verizon Fios?
Asked by: Stuart
Yes, I have used this router with a Verizon Fios internet-only plan (no TV or phone). (If your Verizon Fios will include TV service, you may need a different router to support all the functionality of the TV service.) When I ordered Fios on the Verizon web site, it asked me to choose a router for my service. To use my my own router, I chose the "no router" or "bring your own router" option. The Verizon Fios web page tried to discourage me from this option, by warning me that Verizon will be unable to provide support for my router. I've configured dozens of my own routers, so I confirmed that I wanted to proceed with using my own router.
