How good are the preamps on the XLR connections? ...

How good are the preamps on the XLR connections? How noisy are the preamps on this camera? 'Or is one better served using a field audio mixer?
Asked by: Kenneth
The audio you get from a dedicated off camera audio recorder will always be better than what you can capture within a camcorder, even for the more expensive camcorder models. However the audio will still work and sound good.

Does the XA50 have facial recognition auto-focus? I need to shoot standups and of course, shooting them in 4K means the focus has to be perfect. The XA10 I've used has facial recognition but I understand Panasonic cameras do not.

Hi, When I look at the overview provide on the canon website, it says that in 4k, you will get 15x zoom(382mm) and in HD it is 30x zoom. When I switch to HD(1920x1080), I dont notice any increase, is there something that need be set besides the resolution? Thank you
Asked by: steven
Optical zoom is 15x. When they say 30x it could be digital zoom (i.e. using only part of the sensor to read out the video).

Hi, Should a clear filter be put on the lens for protection?
Asked by: steven
I would see no reason for that, as the included llens cap is an option, as well as the lens hood with retractable cover. Definitely a matter of preference-
