Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Lens (Canon RF)
Key Features
  • RF-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format
  • Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/22
  • Two Aspherical Elements
  • Two ED Elements, Three HR Elements
An ultrawide prime well suited for landscape, architecture, and astrophotography applications, the Canon RF-mount Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 pairs a sophisticated optical layout with a robust and intuitive design. Incorporating 14 elements in 10 groups, this lens utilizes a series of aspherical, low-dispersion, and high-refractive index elements to reduce color fringing, aberrations, and distortions for sharp, clear, and color accurate imagery. An Ultra Multicoating element is also featured, as is a built-in petal-shaped lens hood to suppress lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast in bright, direct lighting conditions. Complementing the imaging assets, the lens's manual focus design lets you work with subjects as close as 11" away, and its metal housing is weather-sealed for working in inclement conditions.

Until we get our hands on one, we are of the opinion that the new lens has more metal in its construction.

What’s the filter size and can you put nd in front?
Asked by: Tapan
Unfortunately, this lens cannot accept screw in filters as it lacks a front filter thread. There is the FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit Kit for Rokinon/Samyang 14mm Lens with 145mm Solid Neutral Density 1.2 and 6.6 x 8.5" Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filters, B&H # FOWFN166SV14 which will allow drop in type filters to be used with the lens. https://bhpho.to/2lNU8i5

Does this lens work on the Canon EOS R?

Does this lens work on the Canon EOS R?
Asked by: Sonya
Yes, naturally. It is an RF mount. I own and have tested it. Some functionality is limited; however, compared to other 14mm options. For instance, there is no auto-focus etc. only drawbacks are the wide angle is sometimes unnecessary and appropriate for limited contexts and secondly, I do not know of a lens cover or filter mount option

I would like to use it for real estate video. does it have more distortion than the Venus Laowa 15mm f / 2 FE Zero-D? Thanks
Asked by: Davide
This lens would have about the same low distortion as the Venus Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D. Although it offers AF, it would not be as good in low light.

how’s this different from using the F-mount version with the FTZ adapter(That combination might be a bit lighter too)
Asked by: Shailendra
I would add that this is a fully manual lens. The adapter seems to be machined metal bolted onto the same lens that the F-mount lens uses, and the adapter adds quite a bit of weight, takes up quite a bit of space in your bag, and is not removable. If you have an FTZ adapter, you may be better off getting one of Rokinon/Samyang's F-mount offerings.

What is the circular size for this lens?

It should be in the B&H specs portion of the product page. This is a terrible example of a rokinon lens. Not worth the money.
