Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Lens for Canon RF
Key Features
  • RF-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format
  • Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/22
  • One Hybrid Aspherical Element
  • Ultra Multi-Coating
A prized prime for portraiture, the Canon RF-mount Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 is a short telephoto lens characterized by its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture. This bright design suits working in low-light conditions and also offers increased control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. The optical design incorporates one hybrid aspherical element that helps to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations for a high degree of sharpness and accurate rendering. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting in order to achieve greater contrast and color fidelity. The manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 3.6' away and a rounded eight-blade diaphragm contributes a pleasing bokeh quality.

How this lens compares with the Canon EF version? It looks like EF lens + adapter is lighter than the RF lens. EF + adapter length is the same as the RF length.
Asked by: Oldrin
They have the same number of lens elements and lens groups. They have the same number of diaphragm blades. They have the same coatings. They are both manual focus and both don't have image stabilization. It is the same lens, the RF mount just has the adapter built in.

Can the Nikon Z6 meter with this lens when setup as a non-CPU lens? if so, what camera settings are recommended?
Asked by: John
This lens is completely manual. As you set the aperture on the lens barrel, you will see the exposure go darker or lighter in the EVF. The camera must be in manual exposure mode for proper use.
