Color temperature is variable from 3200 to 5600K, to integrate smoothly into any ambient light situation, match other fixtures, or spark creative expression. Light intensity is variable too from 10 to 99% in 1% increments, and while you can make these adjustments locally on the fixture, you can also make them remotely at distances up to 100' with the separate purchase of the 99-channel, 2.4 GHz Genaray MB-WRT remote transmitter.

The Sparta 865BLED is ready for worldwide use via its multi-voltage AC adapter, but with its two battery slots, it can also run on NP-F-type batteries when mains power is unavailable.

Variable Color, High CRI and TLCI

The Sparta 865BLED has color that's variable from 3200 to 5600K to seamlessly integrate into any ambient light condition, match other fixtures, or shoot creatively. The light's high CRI/TLCI ratings of 94.6/96.5 are indicators of superior accuracy in color rendition.

Adjustable Light Intensity

The panel is dimmable from 10 to 99% without resorting to filters or inconveniently moving the fixture back and forth.

Power Options

The Sparta 865BLED is ready for worldwide use via the included 100 to 240 VAC adapter, but it also has two slots for separately purchased NP-F-type batteries for situations where mains power is unavailable.

Optional Wireless Remote Control

The fixture has a built-in receiver and while you can make color and light intensity adjustments locally, you can also make them on one or several lights at distances up to 100' with the purchase of the 99-channel Genaray MB-WRT remote transmitter.

Structural Integrity

With an all-metal yoke and housing, the Sparta 865BLED can withstand heavy use and the rigors of the road.

Received lighting unit ... dimmer function doesn't work ... color temperature function sometimes works under dimmer control, sometimes doesn't allow to adjust. This is how the unit operates newly out-of-the-box.

Great that you can change the brightness as-well as colour temperature.

A must have for every shoot. Very reliable and manageable when you get familiar with them.

This unit is well constructed, no problems with the barn doors, I use it for bounce lighting off the ceiling, and it provides plenty of light and good match to either incandescent or outdoor, and in between. You'll need a stand or custom mount, the controls on the back are intuitive and repeatable, a 4 digit LED displays the intensity 1-99 and the color temperature expressed as a two digit value, for instance 7841. If I needed another, would not hesitate to buy another. I didn't get the battery or the remote.

Coarse Light - Awkward Controls

The large LEDs do lead to some visible coarseness in the light. I don't like the three button, one knob, one display interface. The buttons have to be held several seconds to take effect.

Digital display incorrect

the lights themselves are fine, basic, get the job done. The digital display on the back of the light does not read out properly (color temperature/light intensity).

Nice Quality for a Light-use Light

I'm using the lights (I bought 2) for web-casting in an asynchronous university course that I am teaching. The controls are easy to use and work well. For my purposes, the lights are perfect. However, I suspect if I were working with them day-to-day and/or moving them around some of the plastic parts might break.

I wish it will be brighter but for the price and size, it is great if you can get one on good discount.

How are these lights for still photography?

How are these lights for still photography?
Asked by: Jereld
The Angler 865BLED Sparta Bicolor LED Light would be a good continuous light option for still photography usage needs such as product photography, portrait photography, macro photography, or any photography usage needs where you need soft, supplemental continuous lighting. As it is a bi-color light fixture whose color output can be adjusted from 3200K to 5600K, it can be used to match the color temperature of your ambient lighting.

Asked by: Thomas
Yes, they are silent. During the pandemic I've been using two as light sources for video calls, so they're regularly quite close, and I've never noticed any noise at all.
