Blind Spot Gear Power Junkie Reviews

A simple power solution

I use this with my Panasonic GH5 and can easily power my camera for 4+ hours with a NP-F970 style battery. So far, after several gigs, I haven't had any unexpected power losses. The battery fits snugly. Even when running and gunning, I don't worry about it falling out. I have also used the USB ports to power my Tascam DR60D-MkII recorder and my phone. Amazingly it can power both those at the same time as my camera. I'm not sure how reliable it is when powering multiple devices at once... but it seems to work. For such a simple piece of Kit, I'm pretty impressed with the Blind Spot and will probably order another one soon.

Perfect accessory for your NP-F batteries

This has been a great addition to my video kit. Being able to power any device over USB (including charging a phone) with a battery I'm already carrying is great, and it means I can stop carrying a dedicated USB power bank. As a bonus, it can also charge a battery via USB, so you can keep an extra battery topped up while not in use.

Exactly the solution i needed

The only single option that I've found for what i needed. I would have otherwise had to have purchased 3 different items to do what this one can. Running wireless video and a wireless tally light. Makes for a slim set up for our roving rig.

I have a Canon M50 and the battery life is really bad. With the Power Junkie I was able to upgrade the battery life adding an NP-F970 battery with the power junkie. With a coupler and the power junkie now I have 5 time the among of battery in the Canon M50

sadly only 7,2V

i bought the power junkie because i wanted a solution for powering follow focus and transmitter off my bmpcc4k. and it works fine. but today i tried to power the bmpcc 4k from the 7,2V output. does not work since the bmpcc4k (and by the way many other products in this industry) consump a minimum of 7,4V. just to be polite: i can not understand that. why does someone produce such a great product and then make such a mistake?

Worked for 10 months

I purchased two of these for my Sony mirrorless cameras. They work great but one had bent pins now so it is useless. The release tab has to be pushed down hard when attaching a battery or the pins will bend easily. It seems pricey and a bit cheap. But worked great for 10 months.

It works

I use this with my Power Extra batteries, and it works fine. It's going to depend more on the build quality of the battery on how well it works. Some may fit looser than others.

Can i connect it to my bmpcc4k using the Tilta 2.5mm DC Male Barrel Power Cable for BMPCC 4k?
Asked by: Caio
That cable from Tilta will not work, as it is designed only for their products. However you could use the Blind Spot Gear Power Junkie Dummy Battery (Canon LP-E6) instead, BH #BLBSG1302901. https://bhpho.to/2TPmEi3

I'm trying to use this to power my Ninja V monitor, I could only find one cable that was 2.5mm to 2.1mm, and it doesn't seem to be working well with the monitor. The voltage drops over and and over and is hard to get an accurate read on the actual juice left on the monitor. Can you suggest a cable to use to power the Ninja V with this? I'm using the Battery Eliminator that came with the monitor.
Asked by: dan
You just use a DC cable.. it’s because your product doesn’t output 12b.

Can this be used to power the Panasonic S5? If yes, via USB or dummy battery? If via dummy battery, can blind spot's dummy battery for the GH5 work for the S5?
Asked by: Emil
This can be used to power the camera via USB, but not through a dummy battery. The Blind Dummy Battery for the GH5 does not work for the S5. They use different batteries. Blind Spot Gear do not currently make a dummy battery for the battery used in the Panasonic S5.
