I just received this charger, and was conditioning some old 2100mA Rayovac rechargeables. When I checked on them, I was shocked to see two of them charged to 3886 mA and still increasing. I immediately unplugged the unit and removed the batteries. One is bubbly looking like it's about to explode. Is my charger defective, or did I do something wrong?
I had two of these chargers do this to me while conditioning the batteries. I contacted the manufacturer. They had me send photos by email. Then the manufacturer requested I return the units to them. They replaced both units with newer units that now have fans. However, I’ve never taken the chance again with conditioning batteries. I now just replace batteries. It was so scary.
