Teradek Ace 500 Reviews
Works very well
Cant complain at all worked along side a Holly Land and this unit definitely out performed it.
Flawless!!!
Great picture quality! It’s as if you we’re using hardwire with out none of the limitations.
Solid connection at all times
Been using Teradek for the past month at it has worked perfectly. No problem at all with connection. Hope it would be metal but I guess plastic is lighter and cheaper.
worth the investment
Thus far they have performed flawlessly. When i get time i will do a Youtube review on them there was only one that i saw which impressed me enough to buy them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy3dgrZgpWo&t=184s0 ). I can go to the basement in my house with the receiver on the top floor and still get rock solid video. the last thing that was super impressive is the delay is unnoticeable if you are doing live switching. The specs on the delay is .01 I looked at the Holly series while cheaper and with some nice bells and whistles this unit was best suited for me for live switching as again the delay is unnoticeable
Rock Solid Signal
I've been really impressed with how easy this is to use. More importantly, I have been pleased with the rock solid signal. It's really nice being able to set up a client monitor and know that I am free to run around and shoot while the client watches the monitor. You know how it goes... most of the time they aren't even really watching the shot but at least it's THERE if they want to see it! :-)
Works great
Wish it wasn't plastic. It overheats a lot indoors. Also look fragile.
Using with SonyFX3 on DJI RS2
Went from a Hollyland 400s to this. ACE 500 TX pairs just fine with Focus 7 Bolt 500 RX and Bolt 500 RX (non-LT, non-XT, the original 500 sdi only). I have a suspicion that even though the specs dont specifically say 10bit transmission, I highly suspect that it is transmitting 10bit because there is no banding on my odyssey Apollo lut preview and in my Focus Bolt RX. More than happy jumping to the Bolt 500 family even though I'm late to the game. This ACE TX is super light weight I built a custom bracket that shoes into the RS2 and its super low profile and so much lighter than the hollyland. Worth every penny.
Works for a couple of hours, then pixel block city
We had the unit only 20ft away from the receiver and it worked fine for the first 2 hrs of the 14hr day. Then the signal becomes extremely course pixels. Definitely not a usable product. I own the Bolt 500 SDI and it's rock solid.
