GVM GVM-672S Overview

GVM has put together this 672S-B Bi-Color LED Studio Video Panel 2-Light Kit for image makers who require a complete system with color and power options. The kit includes two black 672S-B Bi-Color LED Panels with 4-way barndoors, AC power adapters, soft filters, light stands, and a wireless remote controller. The 10.3 x 9.3 x 3" 672S-B Bi-Color LED Panel is a compact light source with a color range from a warm 3200K to daylight-balanced 5600K to meet any ambient light challenge, match other fixtures, or just for creative expression. The light's high CRI/TLCI rating of 97 is an indicator of accuracy in rendering color.

The GVM-672S-B has a wide beam spread that can be controlled with the light's four-way barndoors. Simply swing one or more of the barndoor's leaves into the path of the beam to light areas that you want to and keep light from areas that you don't want illuminated. The light is dimmable too, and while you can make adjustments locally on the fixture, you can also make them with up to 120 fixtures via GVM's 12-channel Multi-Function Master/Slave Control or with the included wireless remote control. The GVM-672S-B runs on 110-220 VAC for worldwide use via the included AC adapter, but it will also run on NP-F-type batteries when mains power is unavailable. The light comes with two diffusion filters to soften the bright LEDs.

How many lumen do these lights emit each?

How many lumen do these lights emit each?
Asked by: M
As a guess based on similar products, probably something like 3000-3500 lumens, but keep in mind that lumens measure total light output and aren't that useful a measure for directional sources. (Candela would be better) Also, maximum output is likely to be at the middle of the color temperature range. The specs give a lighting level in lux for a distance of about 20 inches, which isn't very useful either. Reviewers seem to agree that the amount of light is subjectively fine for interviews and product shoots.

How bright do they get at 100% setting? Specs say 40 Watts, That doesn't seem very bright. Could this kit light a 10X10 green screen?
Asked by: Michael
Wattage is the amount of work the electricity has to do to create light, and that depends on the device being used to create the light. Tungsten type light bulbs are the least effient so it takes much higher wattage to produce the same brightness as an LED. A 40W LED can produce as much light as a 200 ~400 W Tungten bulb and almost double the light of a fluorescent. 100% is the maximum brightness the fixture can emit.
