To do a remote shutter release, you have to use the OI.Share app via WiFi. This particular camera does not support wired shutter releases.

Don't know. It has a very wide variety of presets, the most I have ever seen, macro to night landscapes, fireworks, and most everything in-between. Quality of images is really good.
