Built to deliver top-shelf sound in a compact, bag-friendly, and easy-to-use format for singers, guitarists, and solo podcasters, the third-generation Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB-C audio interface lets artists and content creators score pro-level tone with no learning curve, no matter where they go.

Equally capable for tracking vocals and instruments, the improved Scarlett microphone preamp features switchable phantom power for condenser mics and a selectable Air circuit, which adds clarity-enhancing brightness based on Focusrite's legendary ISA preamplifier. In addition to the single XLR mic input, the Scarlett Solo provides a single 1/4" input with an instrument/line switch that allows it to accept signal directly from a guitar, bass, synthesizer, or drum machine.

Unlocking the ability to record at standard CD quality or high-fidelity resolutions, the 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters ensure that signals are captured and reproduced with detail and accuracy. Listen through headphones or connect active speakers to the balanced 1/4" monitor outputs, and use selectable direct monitoring to hear your live input signal with no distracting echo or latency.

With its bus powering for uninhibited portability, space-saving USB-C connection, and extensive software bundle including virtual instruments, plug-in effects, loops, and more, the Scarlett Solo gives you plenty of powerful tools to kick-start your inspiration; just plug the Scarlett Solo into your Mac/Windows computer or iPad Pro (with USB Type-C), fire up your preferred audio recording software, and let the creativity flow.

Portable and Bus Powered
As the most compact interface in the Scarlett Series, the Scarlett Solo is rugged and ready to travel with you. Being bus powered via USB-C connectivity, it can be used in any room or even remote locations, with your preferred DAW on a Mac/Windows computer or using an iPad Pro equipped with USB-C and a music-making app such as the included Ableton Live Lite or Pro Tools Artist DAWs, and with the help of samples from Splice Sounds and Hitmaker Expansion plug-ins.
Pristine, High-Resolution Conversion
Thanks to its high-performance 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters, the Scarlett Solo is equipped to capture any source from vocals to acoustic and electric instruments clearly and accurately, so you never have to worry about the interface clouding your sound.
Scarlett Mic Preamp with Customizable Tone
The upgraded third-generation Scarlett mic preamp features switchable 48V phantom power to accommodate your favorite condenser mic and a selectable Air setting, which reproduces the Air effect of Focusrite's original ISA mic preamp to impart enhanced brightness and openness on your vocal recordings.
Direct Instrument/Line Input
A dedicated high-impedance, high-headroom 1/4" input on the Scarlett Solo's front panel allows distortion-free recording of an instrument such as an electric guitar or bass, a synthesizer, or a drum machine, and there's no need for a DI box or an amplifier. At the press of a button, the 1/4" input can be used for a line-level source like a mixer's output or the line out from a guitar/bass amp.
Straightforward Controls and Level Indication
With the Scarlett Solo's Easy Start tool and independent gain knobs with multicolor gain halo meters, you'll have no trouble getting set up and dialing in the perfect levels. Plus, there are no menus or complicated controls to slow you down.
Headphone and Monitor Outputs
The balanced 1/4" TRS monitor outputs on the rear panel ensure hum-free connectivity with balanced studio monitors. For critical listening through headphones, just plug your earphones or headphones into the front-panel 1/4" headphone jack. A large knob is positioned next to the headphone jack for quick adjustment of the monitor and headphone volume.
Latency-Free Monitoring
No musician wants to record if they can't hear their performance clearly. Press the Scarlett Solo's direct monitor switch to listen to your input signals exactly as they are supposed to sound, with no latency and no distracting echo.

Fantastic product at a great price. Impressed by ease of use and setup. I just do simple YouTube videos and it is perfect for what I do. I highly recommend the product and would buy other products from Focusrite. And as always B&H is solid with product selection and service.

super compact and light, and works exactly as it says it will! bonus: focusrite has a nice onboarding process on its website, with a bunch of awesome video tutorials that progress one by one (for newbies like me)

Great Value

Great value for a basic XLR mic setup. I have this, a Synco Mic-D2, and Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones. They all work nicely together. My only complaint is there is a slight hiss in the direct monitoring that gets louder the higher the gain is set too, but, this hiss does NOT show up in my recordings.

An affordable way to start getting better recordings

I bought this to work on getting better audio for voice over recordings. After going through the setup videos, my initial tests show cleaner, clearer audio. The small size and form factor means it doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk. So far I am happy with it.

You can use the Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio Interface with a Shure SM57 Dynamic Microphone. You can use an XLR cable like the Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series Neutrik XLR Male to XLR Female Microphone Cable - 15' (B&H # KOM3015) and a stand like the Auray MS-5230F Tripod Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom (B&H # AUMS5230F).

How would this connect to the zoom podtrak p4?

How would this connect to the zoom podtrak p4?
Asked by: Anonymous
This PodTrack P4 is an audio interface itself already and it can be a recorder simultaneously while in audio interface mode. You shouldn't need this the Scarlett Solo if you already have the Podtrak P4 (unless you want higher than 16-bit audio from an interface). If you are wanting to do a podcast over Zoom meetings or something, the P4 already does everything. You can select it as a mic input and audio output in the Zoom meeting software and then hit record on the P4 to record your session locally. Hope this helps. Also, the P4 only has headphone outputs, so you wouldn't really want to connect it up to another audio interface anyway.
