ANDYCINE A-VMBPS-E6 Reviews
Great flexibility
I bought this to provide regulated power to 3 devices. The flexibility of having D-Tap, 12V regulated and 7.2V regulated outputs made it easy to use a V-Mount batter. The only slightly odd this is that the 12V output has a 5.5/2.5mm barrel connector and the 7.2V output has a 5.5/2.1mm connector. Both barrel-to-barrel connectors terminate in a 5.5mm/2.1mm tip. This is likely to prevent plugging into the wrong voltage but seemed a bit odd to me given the ends of both cable end up being the same. There are yellow tags indicating which voltage they are feeding. All-in-all, I'm quite happy with it.
Could be easier to put on batteries
V mounts are a bit stiff to get on, but once they're on they're secure. I like the power switch at the top.
Well made and reasonably priced
I use this with my FS7M2. I'd been wanting to add a large battery but the cost for most options are way too high. This one is great though and the extra cords are a nice addition. The only thing is that the LP-E6 dummy battery didn't work with my Gratical HD, which was a bummer. But still don't regret the purchase.
Awesome mount!
For those that are wondering, it can be mounted on rails either vertically OR horizontally with the included rail mount. I bought a separate one thinking I'd need it but I didn't. Great mount, lots of power and the on/off switch is really nice.
Works great, love the included cables as well
I use this to power a Canon 6dii, an external monitor and a Zoom h5. Decent build quality and the included cables were a nice feature.
Very untrustworthy: Caused hundreds of $ worth of damage
I used this on my new rig, and the battery is not held firm within the plate. As a result of this, the terminals that connect to the battery loose connection for very short amounts of time resulting in any connected devices to loose power. I had a Tilta Nucleus Nano Motor connected to the product, (instead of being directly D-Tapped to the battery), and when it became spotty the motor was surged and burnt out. I am now needing to get another Nucleus Nano Motor, all thanks to this plate. This type of thing should never happen with this kind of product, especially being is one day old.
D-Tap Could Brick Battery
Because of how wide the opening of the D-Tap port is it is extremely easy to put a D-Tap in backwards. That is, negative terminals to positive terminals. If you are planning on relying on ANYONE but yourself to build your camera rig: don't buy this plate. If they accidentally put the D-Tap in backwards it could brick your battery or camera. I'm not sure which or how much damage it will do and I don't want to find out. For this reason alone I returned it, but it also took too much force to get the battery in.
I have issues locking the battery
It works, its cheap, but it takes some time to lock the battery correctly.
