10-Bit Color Depth for Smoother Gradations
The SW270C provides smooth color gradations with its 10-bit panel from a 16-bit look up table (LUT) by gamma correction, which shows more than one billion colors for natural color transitions and subtle shading.

BenQ SW270C Reviews

Best value monitor for color accurate professionals

By Tony

The SW270C is an outstanding value for professionals and novices that demand a color accurate display. Comes out of the box ready to go but I did calibrate both of mine with a color checker display plus. I have my monitors connected with an optional display hood hinge available directly from BenQ. The hood is included with the monitor as well as all necessary cables for connection to your machine. I will say I prefer a 16:10 aspect ratio, but the 16:9 will work just fine. I am completely satisfied with my purchase from B&H and can recommend this monitor to anyone in the market for a display, especially photo editors.

Fabulous monitor

This monitor replaced an aging 5k iMac and the BenQ is far superior. It also compares favorably to my 30 NEC and less than half the price. My only criticism is that the base is fairly large and might get in the way in cramped environments. It worked out fine in my case though. I highly recommend this monitor.

Great color correct monitor for photography.

We were looking for a monitor that would be accurate for both Adobe RGB and SRGB and this monitor fits the bill. I did have to color correct it with my Spyder 5 Pro to get it to match my old monitor but after doing that it is a match. I would highly recommend this monitor for any photographer for accurate color.

Great print production editing

I've had the 4K version of this monitor since 2018 (used as a calibrated display along side a 24 iMac initially). I aded this one for a two monitor setup on an M1 Mac Mini. The two BenQ monitors work beautifully together. I use an i1 Display Pro with supplied Palette Master Element software to calibrate both displays to identical specs. For the way I used these things (Photoshop and Lightroom primarily) there's little to be gained by paying up for the 4K version. Side by side these displays very near identical. I run both displays at 1920x1080

It came well packaged for shipment with no dents in the box. Easy to unbox and get setup. I really appreciate this monitor for revealing accurate color. What I see is what is printed!

Dead After 1 month

This monitor sounds great but was very difficult to set up with absolutely no help from BenQ and then it dies after one month of limited use. Given how poor their customer service is I doubt there will be any resolution. AVOID!!!

And I was not disappointed. This thing is beautiful. I wish I had more space and money for the bigger monitor, but this will do, nicely.

Excellent Photography Editing Monitor

I purchased a competitive model from a different vendor that claimed Mac M1 support. You could display an image from a mac, but there were problems with the supporting software producing weird GUI artifacts when the software was active. The BenQ has worked perfectly with the Mac SW on an M1 from the first try onward. The image is sharp. The color is amazing and by all of my own observations and measurements seems very accurate. It's not 4K, but I tried a 4K monitor and discovered that it is not really much of a help for photo editing. Great for watching movies, but the pixels are so small that it makes it hard to actually see pixel level detail when you need to.

This monitor supposedly replaces the SW2700PT. ...

This monitor supposedly replaces the SW2700PT. That monitor was able to display 10 bit color over its HDMI input. This one does not, according to the Overview description. So, is there another alternative monitor with specs similar to the SW2700PT that does display 10-bit color using HDMI?
Asked by: David
I did not find a similar monitor with 10 bit color support over HDMI and similar specs to the BenQ SW270C Photographer 27" 16:9 HDR IPS Monitor BH #BESW270C. I would keep in mind that your video card would also need to support that which is not always the case with older hardware limited to older HDMI versions.

Hi Lisa, Sorry for the late reply. May I know which year version Macbook Pro you have? For the latest one with USB-C, it can connect to SW270C via USB-C cable. SW270C also supports HDMI & Display Port. Thanks.

BH says in the overview that "... 10-bit color is only supported using USB Type-C and DisplayPort." Why can I not also get 10-bit via the SW270c HDMI2.0 inputs?
Asked by: Peterson
This is an important discrepancy so.... Either the BH tests were innacurate (or are no longer correct given some update...) or BENQ is wrong. FYI, they likewise insisted to me - today - that "10-bit color is supported while using HDMI 2.0 cable." And they sent me this link where the specs affirm same, https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/LCD%20MONITOR/UserManual/SW270C/SW270C_RF_EN_200520142045.pdf

I'm seriously considering this monitor for photo editing. Will my graphics card (GeForce GTX 1660Ti) support the resolution of this monitor?
Asked by: Ronald
I think it should. This is a 2K resolution monitor so most of the modern graphics card should be able to drive it with little difficulty. I had a GeForce GT 750M GPU in a Macbook pro running fine with 4GB of graphics memory.

Does this monitor use high frequency PWM for brightness control? I found reports of yes even though some say no.
Asked by: Christopher
Most LEDs will use PWM to dim, it's just a question of how high the frequency. Some people notice higher frequencies than others, but eventually you get to frequencies no one notices.
