I have 3 of these, one of them I bought like 2 years ago, the other two about a year ago. The one I bought two years ago was used pretty casually, respecting the charging times, etc. But all of the sudden the battery dies, it only works plugged in now, that sort of made me really cautious with the other two, other than that, these little lights are life savers in some situations, I loved using them ever since I got them, but I would have that battery issue in consideration.

Good while it lasted

I have owned two of these lights for well over a year now, and have found them very useful in various situations, lighting some piece of background, providing backlight, and so on. However, the battery on one of them just went dead, and cannot be revived, and now the battery on the other is starting to give unreliable readings. And these lights were not being heavily used. I was looking forward to years of use from these lights, and am disappointed. I did really like them.

A Surprisingly Useful Lighting Solution!

I now have two of these lights (each with the useful six-in-one kit) and find them surprisingly good for run and gun, and also in the studio (as long as it's a fairly intimate setting). I.e. you can light one person at a time well, say, with one light on each side of their face, up to 2-5' away. i've also used them for fairly close up shots doing nature photography. The ability to match intensity as well as color (warm to cool) is great. I received these at the same time as my iPhone 13 Pro Max that shoots ProRes, and I can literally put these items in jacket pockets, to carry around out in the field. Back in the studio the results look quite good. i also have larger lights and a BMD 6k camera with Zeiss glass. With care and common sense, I can intercut images from both rigs. Amazing.

Small but mighty

I was surprised by amount of light put out by this little panel - it's comparable to a couple of my larger LED panels, when both the daylight and tungsten are on. The colour changing is a little slow, but it's fairly simple to dial in the desired temperature. The effects are fun, but I don't really have a use for them. While the accessories are handy (and come with a very convenient carry pack), I'm a little concerned by the strength of the magnets holding the bits onto the clamp that attaches to the light. It's not very strong and any jostling can knock the accessory askew quite easily. Other than that, I'm very happy with the light - it fits in places where other lights can't, and with its built-in battery, it is super-portable. I will be tossing it in my bag to come with me pretty frequently, I imagine.

Awesome light.

Love the design and versatility of this little light - picked up two of them. Intensity is good for size, and the color range is nice.

Great light

The light itself is great. The mounting arm that is connected to it is not the best. I have tried two different style hot shoe adapters so far that won't tighten to the arm completely because of the design. There is a small lip that prevents it from tightening flush to the adapter. If that was better i would give it 5 stars, but the whole time i had it on my gimbal i was having to tighten it and adjust it back into place.

This light can be used with the Ronin-S. You would just need a way to connect it to the gimbal and for that we recommend the SmallRig Wooden Side Handle for DJI Ronin-S/SC & Zhiyun Crane 2/V2 Gimbals which has an accessory shoe mount, BH #SMBSS2222B. https://bhpho.to/2NOB0f1

Asked by: Peter
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but it's worth noting that this cannot run 24/7. Even if plugged in to a power source, it auto shuts off at 24 hours. I guess there's some safety built in to keep it from running non-stop. It also needs to be replugged in before it will come back on; just toggling the power switch will not turn it back on if it shut down after being plugged in and turned on for a full day.

That will all depend on how bright you need it. At around 15 feet or so it should still give you a decent level of brightness.
