Inside the iPod touch is the A10 Fusion chip.

The A10 has been engineered to pack enough processing punch to give you fluid performance while running the latest mobile games and augmented reality experiences.

When it comes to music, the iPod touch gives you 32GB of storage space so you always have your favorite tracks on hand. You also have the ability to subscribe to Apple Music for millions of streaming options. Listen with some (optional) Bluetooth headphones, or plug the included Apple EarPods into the built-in headphone jack.

The iPod touch also features a rear and front camera for snapping HDR photos, 1080p videos, and connecting with friends over Group FaceTime. However you choose to have fun with the iPod touch, you'll play and manage it all through a sharp and vivid 4" Retina display.

Gaming + Apple Arcade

With the A10 Fusion chip and brilliant 4" Retina display, the Apple iPod touch makes for a powerful mobile gaming solution that looks great. Its support for AR games and apps gives you the ability to overlay your digital fun onto your real-world surroundings. Have monsters stomp around the playground, race a friend across a desk, or blast spaceships out of the sky above you.

The 7th generation iPod touch also supports Apple Arcade. It's a gaming subscription service from Apple that gives you unlimited access to over 100 new games without ads or in-app purchases. You can play them online or off, and the experience can transfer across all of your Apple devices. Play your favorite game on your new iPod touch, then throw it up on your Apple TV when you get home.

Group FaceTime

With the built-in camera, you can use your iPod touch to FaceTime with a friend or Group FaceTime with up to 32 friends at the same time. The tile of whoever's talking gets bigger automatically, so it's easy to keep track of the conversation. You can even jump into a Group FaceTime session right from a group text in Messages.

With Messages, you can send free texts that are filled with animated effects, stickers, and more. Send them to anyone who uses an iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It's an ideal solution to teaching kids how to use digital devices in a healthy and responsible way.

Apple iPod touch 7th Generation Reviews

Perfect for Stereo System (Aux in)

We have an old stereo system with an aux input and this thing is perfect. I know, why not use your phone? Well every time you get a phone call or a text message or anything you need your phone. With this it's always playing in the background. Plus it's got the throwback feel which just adds a little nostalgia to when we were young and free...young and free.

music enjoyment but two disappointments

Music Enjoyment: I bought this iPod Touch MP3 player to replace a failed iPod Classic 6th Generation (battery finally gave up the ghost). Although the Touch has lots of bells and whistles, I am using it only for listening to my music library. And for this use, it has very nice sound, perhaps slightly better than the iPod Classic. Disappointment #1: Apple claims it is a 32GB memory. Maybe so, but the ultimate user (me) can only load 21 GB of music even though I deleted all the apps that are sizable. The bells and whistles and stuff put in by Apple takes up the other 11 GB. That's a disappointment because my music library is about 27 GB. Disappointment #2: the touch screen is impossibly sensitive. My music library in the Classic and the Touch is set up in playlists. When scrolling through a playlist, I inevitably accidentally trigger a song. The touch screen controls are simply not easy to use. Frustrating. The iPod Classic design used a click wheel to scroll through music entries and playlists, and a separate center button to select the chosen entry. The click wheel is far, far superior to the touch screen for scrolling and selecting! There is no setting to control the pressure of the touch, only the duration. I wish Apple had not improved its MP3 player by use of the touch screen.

It's an Apple iPod, and it's great!

I needed a couple of extra devices to shoot video for a YouTube broadcast. These iPods are just the thing, with a decent camera and full app store functionality. The battery life is terrible, compared to similar iPhones, but otherwise a solid device.

Not really an iPod!

B&H is a great retailer, fast shipping and competitive pricing. This review reflects only my opinion of Apple & the iPod Touch. This device is really a iPhone without the ability to text or make a call. It is loaded with apps already on my iPhone. My day 1, white 20 gb iPod finally crapped out & req'd replacement. Since Apple quit making the iPod Classic (why?) and any for sale in original box likely have a dead battery, this is your only option. I deleted all apps except iTunes to make storage for more songs. Despite owning multiple Apple devices, I've never really liked their customer service, programmers, engineers, etc. Guess I'm the dumb one rather than Apple.
