The LS C300d II's performance is backed by its design. The all-aluminum construction goes through numerous fabrication steps, and the reflector and accessory mount is the widely used Bowens S-Type. A wireless remote that allows you to control on/off and dimming functions from distances up to 328' is included. And speaking of control, Aputure also offers the Bluetooth Sidus Link App Control which allows wireless adjustments of all the light's functions as well as effects such as Lightening, Pulse, Flash, and Explosion. Ideal for sound-sensitive environments, the LS C300d II can be seen but not heard thanks to a highly efficient fan that can be turned off when absolute silence is required. The LS C300d II is ready for worldwide use thanks to its 110-240 VAC power supply but it also has two battery plates, allowing you to use V-Mount batteries for external power when mains current is unavailable. The LS C300d II is delivered with a power cable, a DMX cable to connect to the ballast, a wireless remote, a clamp, and a beefy carrying case that can support 220 lb to protect the light during transport and storage.

Changing the Game
A couple of years ago, Aputure impacted the industry with the 300d, creating a powerful and compact LED fixture that could be modified easily. Filmmakers from around the world were impressed by the light's capabilities, but encouraged by user feedback, Aputure produced the redesigned and improved 300d Mark II. The light is 20% brighter than its predecessor, more durable, more portable, and "smarter" than the original 300d.
Even More Output
By utilizing the latest in Aputure COB LED technology, the 300d Mark II outputs a whopping 20% more light than its predecessor. When combined with the optional Fresnel 2X, the 300d Mark II can produce up to 80,000 lux, approaching the luminance of a 575W HMI! And as always, the 5600K-balanced 300d Mark II maintains very accurate color fidelity with CRI/TLCI ratings of 96+.
A More Robust Lamp Head
The 300d Mark II also introduces redesigned features, while maintaining the same form factor and lightweight aircraft aluminum body as the original 300d. The latest yoke allows for 360° of rotation, and when combined with the handbrake locking mechanism from the 120d Mark II, you'll be able to mount the light in any position, with any modifier.
Maximum Efficiency with Hyper Reflector
The 300d Mark II is also the first Aputure light to feature the all-new, hyper efficient 55° reflector. By slightly narrowing the beam from 60 to 55° and redesigning the inner shape and coating of the reflector, Aputure was able to increase the output of the 300d II by more than 3-times, when compared to the original design.
A Redesign Revolution
The control box is completely redesigned. By utilizing Aputure's fan‐less heat sink design, the 300d Mark II's All-in-One control box is now completely silent. Composed of a durable aluminum alloy, with a new concealed antenna and military-grade paracord strap, the control box is ready to withstand the rigors of any film set. The 300d Mark II control box is also the first product to utilize Aputure's quick release plate and clamp system, allowing you to firmly secure it on any stand, truss, or speed rail.
Power Solutions for Indie Filmmakers
The 300d Mark II can produce its maximum output by using two high-capacity V-Mount or Gold Mount batteries, but it also features advanced technology that allows you to power the light with a single battery at up to half output. The included 19.7' Neutrik cable provides the 300d II with a sturdy power connection and allows you the convenience of not having to grab a stinger to power your light.
Enhanced Control Features
The control box of the 300d Mark II features 8 built-in lighting FX: Paparazzi, Spark, Lightning, Faulty Bulb, TV, Pulse, Flash, and Explosion, with more coming in future firmware updates via the control box's USB interface. The control box also features a trigger button to activate lighting FX instantly.
Stepless Dimming
The long-awaited 0 to 100% stepless dimming control allows you to use the 300d II in low-light environments or to overpower the sun and can utilize any of 4 different dimming curves: Linear, Logarithmic, Exponential, and S-Curve.

The 300d Mark II also features a Studio Mode that allows the lights to turn on and be controlled immediately upon receiving power, making it ideal for DMX lighting grids.

More Options for Control
In addition to the control wheel, the 300d Mark II also features DMX512 compatibility, a 2.4 GHz Aputure Wireless remote with an FX toggle button, and the ability to be controlled by the Sidus Link App using a Bluetooth mesh network protocol.
Sidus Link App Control
Featuring recently introduced Bluetooth SIG mesh network technology, the 300d Mark II will also the first app-controllable Aputure lighting fixture. This technology will allow you to control a 300d Mark II from up to 1300' away, by linking multiple lights up to 262' apart. Using the Sidus Link App, you'll be able to access all of the functions of the control box, in addition to being able to save presets, finely tune and trigger additional lighting FX, as well as install firmware updates, all from your smartphone or tablet.
Redesigned Carrying Case
Aputure also made the carry case with grip trucks and run-and-gun filmmakers in mind. The new 300d Mark II carrying case is composed of durable walls with a soft exterior lining that can support up to 220 lb, providing both ample protection and a seat for you on set. The bottom of the case is also covered with an easy-to-clean, slash-proof material, letting you rest easy, knowing your 300d Mark II will survive just about any situation you throw at it.

I can't add more to the positive reviews already posted here, but I will for B&H and Aputure. Extremely good LED light. Well built. Very high light output. Aputure really thought their lights through thoroughly. Is this as potent as a Joker 400 HMI? Maybe. It's very close for sure, and at much, much less of cost to you. If you have the budget, I highly recommend getting these lights. If not, try the Amaran 200s....they're very powerful and less cost than these Aputure 300s. But you will be very happy with the output and versatility of these Aputure 300d II.

Well designed, bright enough for an interview

This is my go-to key light for interviews, especially when traveling. It's fairly compact while still being bright enough to fill a 48 softbox. Versatile enough to use in a lot of different ways, too. Not bright enough to use outdoors, but for indoor work it's a real bargain for what you're getting. Great build quality, too.

Truly an incredible light

I've wanted to phase out of flash for a while for multiple reasons. After lots of searching, I landed on the 300d ii, and I'm very impressed. I've used it on one studio session so far and it's truly amazing. The best part, NO FLICKER with Sony A1 mirrorless at 1/400th using the electronic shutter (I didn't try higher). That's incredible. I love being able to see the light as I adjust the angle and direction without having to take multiple test shots with flash. Continuous lighting is a game-changer. I also love being able to create motion blur with a flowy dress at 1/60th of a second. I used this light with a 69 Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox with two layers of diffusion, and it still put out enough of light for me. If you like to stop down your aperture, use one layer of diffusion or jump up to the 600d. I highly recommend this light!!!

I love this light

This light rocks. Light weight, portable, powerful, and loads of options. With the add-on light box and fresnel lens, this thing is the all around workhorse you're looking for. I'll also throw in that the build of everything is high quality, and the case it comes with is nice.

Regarding battery operation, I understand ...

Regarding battery operation, I understand according to Aputure's documentation that 15A batteries are required to power the 300d II, based on the logic of 350W max power draw requires (12V * 15A) * 2 = 360W. My question is, if I own many 12A batteries, is there a safe way to use them with this light, by capping the output following this equation: 12V * 12A = 144W max draw 144W is more or less 40% of 350W So one battery should provide safely and reliably 40% of total output capacity. 2 batteries should provide 80% of total output capacity. Meaning if I underpower the light using these values, I should be ok. Is that logic sound?
Asked by: David
I am surprised that Aputure gave that answer... As power electronics engineer with 40 years of experience, I do not recommend running your LiIon batteries beyond their rating for any length of time. Depending on the quality and age of the cells, and depending on the protection circuits built-in to the battery, you cannot assume it is safe to operate them beyond their rating - this is how battery-pack fires start. Having said that - yes your logic is sound. Running at 80% max will keep the packs within a safe operating region (12 A). I am also surprised that Aputure did not know that - when you have a single battery installed and set the power level to 80% - that really is 40% (the output of the power supply is cut in half with only 1 V-mount installed). So you only need to worry about keep the setting to 80% or below regardless of whether 1 or 2 batteries are attached. As a final note - the red-colored V-mount is the master. If you have only a single battery it must be on the red mount. The second battery goes on the black mount. Once the #1 battery on the red mount runs out, the light shuts-off, regardless of how much charge is remaining in battery #2. So plan accordingly to get the longest operating life.
