Meopta B1.1 Overview

  • 1Description

The Meopta 10x42 B1.1 MeoStar HD Binocular provides a superior viewing experience by combining well-engineered optics and a wide field of view in a lightweight and durable housing. The extra-low dispersion (ED) fluoride glass lenses, treated with their proprietary MeoBright multi-coatings, and compact Schmidt-Pechan prisms deliver vivid true-color images that are bright and crisp across the entire field of view. The lenses are also precision ground to present a flat view that makes scanning expansive terrain easy and comfortable without edge distortion that can cause disorientation.

Meopta designed the binocular with ergonomics in mind to minimize user fatigue during long observations. The housing is made from a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy. Protective rubber armor wraps the body and provides a slip-resistant grip. Design details like raised dimpled palm pads and underside thumb indentations further improve grip stability and comfort. The housing is nitrogen filled and sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions. A large center focusing wheel is easy to use with either hand and an improved locking dioptric correction dial, located on the focusing knob, ensures precise focusing even if you normally wear corrective eyeglasses.

Optical Performance
  • Ideal for wide and open terrain where extreme long-distance observation and identification are common
  • High 10x power magnifies the view, allowing detailed observation of distant subjects
  • Moderate 42mm objective lenses deliver bright views even in challenging light conditions
  • Schimdt-Pechan roof prism design corrects the view while allowing for thinner optical tubes versus the more common Abbe-Koenig design, maintaining optical performance in an easier-to-hold chassis
  • Fluoride extra-low dispersion (ED) objective lenses correct chromatic aberrations and fringing to deliver bright and clear high-contrast and high-resolution views with accurate color representation
  • Flat field of view makes side-to-side panning and scanning smooth and distortion-free, resulting in clearer views and less user disorientation
  • Proprietary ion-assisted MeoBright 5501 multi-coatings deliver 99.8% light transmission while suppressing glare
  • MeoShield anti-scratch coating protects lenses from scratches or abrasions
  • Wide 63° apparent angle of view provides sweeping views of the terrain with reduced appearance of the distracting hand shake that is common when holding high-power optics
  • Generous 331-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip-resistant center focusing knob with ±3 dioptric correction dial is easy to manipulate in cold and wet conditions, even while wearing gloves
  • Locking diopter sets the desired correction against accidental movement
  • Wide 56-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for easy use with or without eyewear
  • Comfortable 15mm eye relief reduces eyestrain during long glassing sessions
  • Wide 4.2mm exit pupil will cover most pupils as they open and dilate in fading light to avoid vignetting of the view
Construction Details
