Ideal for use in wide open and expansive terrain, like the plains of American west, where observing game and other subjects at extreme long distances, the Meopta 12x50 B1.1 MeoStar HD Binoculars provide a superior viewing experience by combining well-engineered optics and a wide field of view in a lightweight and durable housing.

The extralow-dispersion (ED) fluoride glass lenses, treated with their proprietary MeoBright multi-coatings, and compact Schmidt-Pechan prisms deliver vivid true-color images that are bright and crisp across the entire field of view. The lenses are also precision ground to present a flat view that makes scanning expansive terrain easy and comfortable without edge distortion that can cause disorientation.

Meopta designed the binoculars with ergonomics in mind to minimize user fatigue during long observations. The housing is made from a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy and protective rubber armor wraps the body and provides a slip-resistant grip. Design details like raised dimpled palm pads and underside thumb indentations further improve grip stability and comfort. The housing is nitrogen filled and sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions. A large center focusing wheel is easy to use with either hand and an improved locking dioptric correction dial, located on the focusing knob, ensures precise focusing even if you normally wear corrective eyeglasses.

Optical Performance

  • Designed for use in wide and open terrain such as the American West, where extreme long-distance observation and identification are common
  • Powerful 12x magnifies the view, allowing detailed observation of distant subjects
  • Large 50mm objective lenses draw in massive amounts of light to deliver bright views even in pre-dawn or deep dusk
  • Schimdt-Pechan roof prism design produces thinner optical tubes versus the more common Abbe-Koenig design, maintaining superior optical performance in an easy-to-hold chassis
  • Fluoride extra-low dispersion (ED) objective lenses correct chromatic aberrations and fringing to deliver bright and clear high-contrast and high-resolution views with accurate color representation
  • Flat field of view makes side-to-side panning and scanning smooth and distortion-free, resulting in clearer views and less user disorientation
  • Proprietary ion-assisted MeoBright 5501 multi-coatings deliver 99.8% light transmission while suppressing glare
  • MeoShield anti-scratch coating protects lenses from scratches or abrasions
  • Wide 63° apparent angle of view provides sweeping views of the terrain with reduced appearance of the distracting hand shake that is common when holding high-power optics
  • 277-foot field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip-resistant center focusing knob with ±3 dioptric correction dial is easy to manipulate in cold and wet conditions, even while wearing gloves
  • Locking diopter sets the desired correction against accidental movement
  • Wide 56-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for easy use with or without eyewear
  • Comfortable 15mm eye relief reduces eyestrain during long glassing sessions
  • Wide 4.2mm exit pupil will cover most pupils as they open and dilate in fading light to avoid vignetting of the view

Construction Details

  • Durable aluminum housing helps to offset the weight of the large objectives to make it more comfortable to hold during long glassing sessions
  • Rubberized armor protects chassis while offering a slip-resistant grip
  • Raised dimpled palm pads provide improved grip security
  • Inset thumb grooves on bottom offer comfortable and more secure ergonomic handling
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter to eliminate arm fatigue and shake/vibrations; mounting location under removable front hinge cap
  • Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and submersible to 13' and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions and temperatures
