SmallRig DBM2266 Overview

Mount your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K or 4K camera or cage onto a shoulder rig, tripod, or 15mm rod system with this 501PL-Compatible Baseplate from SmallRig.

The top of the aluminum baseplate features a Manfrotto 501PL-compatible quick release plate that provides 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting screws. The middle of the baseplate is a standard 15mm LWS rod clamp that secures to a rod system with thumbscrews. The bottom of the mount fits onto any standard ARRI-style dovetail mount, and there are also 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads on the bottom for additional mounting options. An Allen wrench is included for the adjustment of thumbscrew tension.

Will this work w/Zcam F6 in 8Sinn cage (bottom ...

Will this work w/Zcam F6 in 8Sinn cage (bottom ~8mm thick)? ...#’s look good. Currently 8Sinn bridgeplate, but it doesn’t engage safety catches front & rear of 12” Arri dovetail plate as 8Sinn plate dovetails too thin and shallow; not safe. Working with Wooden Universal Matte Box, Xeen Primes, Vmount attached to rear of cage via Nitze mount, Ninja V + Zacuto Kameleon, (all from B&H thank you!)... so a fair load on good ole O’Connor 50 head. Difficult to find a good sled...any recommendations? Looked at Arri’s & everything you’ve got but Zcam is too tiny. At least it was when I started!

This is designed specifically for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k and 6K along with select SmallRig Cages. We do not recommend it for use with the ZCam F6.

What else do I need to attach this to a Manfrotto tripod that uses a 501PL plate? I ordered this, but confused on how this attaches to the tripod. Do I need to get a dovetail plate?

You will need a dovetail plate in between the tripod plate and Smallrig Baseplate.

Yes the SmallRig 501PL-Compatible Baseplate for BMPCC 6K and 4K is compatible with the BMPCC 6k and it is also compatible with the Manfrotto MVH500AH Flat Base Fluid Head. You would attach the tripod plate to the bottom of the SmallRig 501PL-Compatible Baseplate using the tripod's 1/4 20 screw, or it's 3/8-16 screw, or ideally both if your plate has both.

will this work for bmpcc 6k pro with and/or without a cage? i have the viltrox vx 18m and want to know if i can mount it there thanks

Hoping Nicholas at B&H sees this, Nicholas you answered "You can mount this directly onto the 6K Pro with or without a cage." can you (or anyone in the comments) clarify. I suppose you can technically mount directly, with one screw only? but I just bought 2 of these plates to mount to 2 6k Pro's and the holes dont line up to get 2 screws in. Im about to return

Yes, this is a 501PL style baseplate. It should work in the Ronin-S and the Ronin-S' plate should work in this.

Would this work with other cages/cameras? Specifically wondering about the Fuji XT3?

It seems like it should take a XT2/XT3 cage or any for that matter. A screw is a screw, which it has. Fujifilm is always left out of the cool parts every generation.
