Available for download, the Softube Tube-Tech Complete Collection bundles together the Tube-Tech Equalizer Collection with the Tube-Tech Compressor Collection. Suitable for use as a channel strip in pro-audio applications, this bundle provides the updated MK II and legacy versions. If you want to use the compressor and the equalizers in one instance of the plug-in, the Tube-Tech Classic Channel MK II is also included, which can be utilized in mid/side mode for mastering contexts.
Softube Tube-Tech Compressor Collection Plug-Ins (Download)
Featuring the original CL 1B and a newer, improved version over the original model's sound and graphics, the Tube-Tech Compressor Collection from Softube is a pair of downloadable optical compressor plug-ins based on a Tube-Tech classic, with soft and smooth sound that can deliver heavy compression levels without degrading the original signal. The plug-in is CPU friendly and uses old school VU meter displays, assignable to the input, gain reduction, or output.
A comprehensive set of controls includes attack and release settings. In manual mode, the compressor functions in a traditional manner with the user specifying all settings. A fixed/manual mode allows the release control to work as in manual mode, with the attack fixed to a fast attack, and the attack knob turning into a delay for the release time.
You can sidechain the compressor's input to an external source, or make use of the internal low-cut filter to tune the compressor's reactivity. The internal sidechain is selectable between off, 80 Hz and 220 Hz. A dry/wet knob is on hand should you wish to use the compressor in parallel. The plug-in is available for Mac and Windows platforms and includes the first-generation legacy addition of the plug-in for backwards compatibility with sessions that utilize the CL 1B.
Softube Tube-Tech EQ Collection - Software Equalizers for Pro Audio Applications (Download)
Available for download, the Softube Tube-Tech MK II EQ Collection bundles together two plug-ins, each modeled on classic Tube-Tech equalizers and each sporting sonic and graphic improvements over their corresponding original versions. Both of the hardware inspirations for these plug-ins were themselves modeled on hallowed Pultec equalizers. The software EQs have been housed in a single plug-in for your convenience.
First you're given the PE 1C, a passive, tube-driven equalizer suitable for many different sources such as drums, bass, guitars, and vocals. The EQ features a low-frequency section made up of two low-shelf filters that can be combined to attenuate and boost at the same time, resulting in unique filter curves and resonances. The high-frequency section has a peak and a shelving filter working in parallel, which can help you secure a smooth top end that doesn't become overbearing.
Next you have the ME 1B, a three-band mid-range EQ based on Tube-Tech's recreation of the Pultec MEQ-5 equalizer. The hardware ME 1B is tube-based equalizer designed to accompany the PE 1C while providing control over the frequencies that the PE 1C cannot adjust.
The ME 1B provides a low-frequency boost a large-range (200 Hz to 1 kHz) a sweepable cut (200 Hz to 7 kHz), and a high-midrange frequency boost (1.5 to 5 kHz). The mid section never boosts, but always attenuates the selected frequency. The low and high bands always boost their corresponding frequencies.
On their own, both modules are suitable tools for tonal shaping. Taken together, they comprise a versatile and full-featured equalizer. These plug-ins are available for Mac and Windows platforms, and include the legacy MK I versions.
